Liviamartuccion 16/06/2017 19:44We have spent a few days at the Casona de Quintana and we have had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful, in a peaceful tiny village, and Jose and Nuria are really nice, friendly and helpful. They have given us great advice on what to see and their breakfasts and dinners were amazing!
We have thoroughly enjoyed relaxing here and seeing a bit of Cantabria- highly recommend it!
Lovely hotel in Cantabria

The hosts were so welcoming and helpful, the food was delicious and our rooms extremely comfortable. We had to leave very early in the morning on our last day and Jose very kindly and happily got up to give us a lovely breakfast before we left. We shall definitely go back.
Beautifully renovated historic property in a fantastic village
Nathan Ton 23/05/2017 18:00We stayed only one night but were immediately taken with the stunning location in the Cantabrian mountains, the kind and attentive staff, and the property itself. This is a beautiful farmhouse renovated into an incredible little hotel by owners who respect the original building, materials, and location. The room was very quiet and well-appointed with a spacious and bright bathroom. All the details are well done here, from the linen to the bath products. And even though you're in a centuries-old building, everything is spotlessly clean. The dinner and breakfast in the dining room downstairs was also fantastic, featuring many local products. The cheese! The owners were particularly kind and gracious, doing everything to make sure we were comfortable while at the same time letting us explore the property and the area on our own. This is one great hotel!

Margaret Jon 11/05/2017 22:37We loved this place! The setting was amazing, with beautiful views and walks right in the hamlet. It was very quiet with cowbells ringing in the distance. The house was surrounded by a lovely garden, perfect for sitting and enjoying a glass of wine. The house was beautifully appointed and we enjoyed sitting on our lovely terrace enjoying the view. But our favorite part was the always smiling Nuria, a wonderful and accomplished chef. Our meal was superb! Beautifully presented and prepared. Breakfast was delicious too! Our stay was fantastic and we will always remember the Casona de Quintana as a very special place!
Fantastic hosts, fantastic place, and fantastic location
NicD007on 17/04/2017 11:22We spend eight nights here - and had dinner for seven of those. Amazingly peaceful location and the hotel fits very well into the ambience of the village / hamlet. It is remote, but you have options in nearby La Gandara for basic provisions.
Jose and Nuria are perfect hosts - kind and thoughtful, and they employ a small team who are friendly and exceptionally welcoming. We loved breakfast and dinner, served in a spacious and airy dining space with great views out to the valley and the mountains. The €20 menu is great value and Jose's all Spanish wine list is a joy, given the quality and the pricing. What with the gin bar, you can drink well here !
Food is equally special - lots of local produce (e.g. wonderful sweet chorizo from a village in the valley, very local cheese and butter, jams, etc) and Nuria has a deft touch with salads, dressings and the range of main courses, spanning fish, meat and stews. We also ate from the main menu - everything v good indeed.
Our room (1) was generous in terms of space, including the bathroom. The views are lovely. Bed is very comfortable - I slept very well indeed: no doubt the quiet helped.
The location is beautiful although a car helps if you want to strike out and explore. We were able to do both Santander and Bilbao within 90 minutes. Beaches around Noja and Santona are exceptionally clean, with beautiful crystal clear sea - cold but refreshing. We were blessed with great weather over Easter.
We will return !!
