Cheap and great location for the Taj
Elizabethoxleyon 26/08/2017 20:05Very cheap hotel - £5 for a room. It had a great rooftop view of the Taj Mahal. We had some sort of fruit curry in the restaurant and it was one of my favourite curries in India! The only downside was that our sheets were dirty but that is the case in most budget accommodation out here!
Without a doubt best in Agra!
Tom Kon 23/08/2017 19:33This hotel was the best value for money in all of India, and that is saying something. You are spoiled with great food and a perfect view of the Taj Mahal from the restaurant. It's worth spending extra for the top floor room because of the convenience of seeing the taj from your room and even the toilet?!?! And the round bed is extra comfy. The staff are great and you can stroll to the Taj in five minutes. Awesome place absolutely flawless.
Check out the rooftop patio! (Also a short walk to the Taj)
Julie Hon 09/08/2017 21:19PROS:
EXTREMELY close to the Taj (maybe a few minutes walk) - excellent place if you plan on staying a night or two with visiting the Taj as the main activity. The rooftop patio served drinks (including alcoholic) & food with an amazing view of the Taj Mahal in the background. Clean rooms and comfortable stay.
CONS:
Power cuts (no AC or wifi) happened a few times for a few hours during our 1 night stay.
One night hotel for Taj Mahal visit
Layth Hon 05/08/2017 17:37We stayed one night at Sai Palace hotel.
The hotel is very basic, with no hot water showers. Fan room was fine in the summer.
I'd recommend staying here if you plan 1 night in Agra as it is walking distance from the South Gate of the Taj Mahal (for sunrise). They also have a rooftop restaurant with a view of the taj.
Worth a one night stay, not any longer.
Location is the key
Jason1986_10on 26/07/2017 03:46Having booked this hostel based on the rooftop view of the Taj we were not disappointed.
The location of this hostel is what sold it to us. We didn't read any other reviews nor did we see the star rating before booking. Had we done we may not have booked up and seen the Taj from this vantage point.
When we arrived at the hostel our room was not ready so they let us look our backpacks away until we were ready to fully check in. This was the first tick.
Unfortunately on checking in their photocopier was jamming so I had to get it copied in the town at my own cost (albeit 10rupees so not losing sleep over that).
When we got in our private double en suite we were pleasantly surprised. A running shower and a flushable toilet. As well as AC that was more than sufficient.
On closer inspection however the cleanliness is lacking. Stained sheets are not nice for anyone.
The decor is a bit out there but for a one night stay I'm happy with our choice.
The bed was comfy and the noise from surrounding area was minimum.
For 500rupees I am a happy traveller.
Thank you for our stay.
