Stayed for 4 nights whilst touring the area on a motorbike October 2016 . Large clean room with excellent bathroom and shower. Comfortable mattress with extra pillows and blanket available if needed. Central Heating , Lots of storage space, Breakfast available from 7am til 9.30 at extra cost but well worth it, lots of choice, all the tea, coffee and orange juice you can drink plus croissants, bread , cheese, yoghourts fruit etc. Nearby is a patisserie and several restaurants, however it is really close to the bridge and a short walk into Chinon. Near to local restaurants, shops, bars etc and the Fort - not to be missed. The owners are charming and helpful and we would definitely stay again. The hotel is open in the morning and again in the late afternoon but we were advised by the owners to take our key if travelling out as they are not there in the late evening. For the money it is excellent value and we would definitely stay again but do not expect concierge/ room service its not that kind of hotel. Also be aware when travelling at the weekend that lots of restaurants/shops etc are closed on Sunday so be prepared to take supplies with you. This is a lovely hotel and we would definitely visit again. Weekly food market not to be missed in Chinon

This hotel is located across bridge from chateau and medieval streets. Less than 10 minute walk to old town over bridge. Best views of Loire and chateau. Used as overnight stop and visited old town lit up at night and meal in square with many bard and restaurants to choose from and eating in open air.

Nice, relatively simple hotel with very friendly staff. The hotel is located not far from the old town, it is just a 5 minute walk. There is private parking in the back so that you can keep the bicycles on the car if you wish.

Extremely friendly family run hotel. Nothing seemed too much trouble and excellent breakfast set us up for rides.
Rooms basic, clean, good shower and wifi throughout- although not particularly fast, perhaps more in keeping with having a break!
Cycling very easy with excellent signage. Hotel just across bridge from centre. Lovely view of river and the castle on walk in.

This hotel is located just a few steps from the bridge to the old town. From this vantage point you can get the best views of Chinon and its fortress.
The hotel is basic, but very clean and cozy. We had free WiFi and the connection was pretty good. The room was spacious and very quiet. The bathroom was spacious too and had complimentary toiletries and lots of towels. The lady at the reception was so kind to provide us with even extra towels just for our convenience.
The parking at the hotel is free. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, the price for which was 7-8 euros. Instead we shopped locally, as we love to buy from local bakeries in the town so that we can try greater variety at a more affordable price.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Saint-Jacques and we recommend it to anyone staying in Chinon.
