Good but collisions with a member of staff
Thomas Son 05/08/2017 16:49The hotel itself is great. The Sakura hotel has a 24 cafe and terrace, however a member of staff (Kaz) has been rude to our party and very disrespectful, he claims to have complaints yet all of the other other staff have been great. Peter is amazing and is a great manager and friend Niaomi is also a great member of staff.
Kaz however has been very rude towards our party. He seems to have a disliking to British and Americans. He has kicked us out of the terrace which not even Peter (the manager) has not and has overall affected the view over the hotel and cafe as he has threatened to close the 24 hour cafe which he can't and has over all treated us poorly. We have no other problem with the staff and it was a good stay, just avoid contact with Kaz
Clean,convenience,good price
EillyLeeon 24/07/2017 07:18the room is clean,i booked a room for 5 people,we all slept very well.this hotel also provide an easy breakfast like a toast with soup,it's great. i slept here for 2 nights,it's easy to go anywhere and all staff very helpful, they told me where should i go for shopping and how to take a transportation.
Very noisy, thin walls and 24/7 hairdryers! Great staff.
MazTheFoodyon 22/07/2017 06:29It's more of a hostel than a hotel as there are no private bathrooms and many shared dorm style rooms.
The staff are professional and very helpful. Clean and tidy. Rooms are incredibly tiny.
BUT...the noise factor is unbearable. The walls in the rooms are super thin.
There are these really loud communal hairdryers on every level directly outside the bedrooms (Not inside a bathroom but directly outsdie your bedroom door). People use them at all hours of the night with no respect for others trying to sleep. The noise is non-stop. I was repeatedly woken up every night several times at 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am by people using the hairdryers outside my room. The 2 weeks I stayed at the Sakura hotel, I never got more than 2 hours sleep without being woken up by the damn things.
People in the rooms next door can be heard having parties. The walls are so thin you can actually follow the convesations. The hostel has a wonderful communal area on the ground floor where people can hang out 24/7 but despite this, people prefer to party in the rooms. So if you're in Japan for work or study and need some sleep or quite, this is not the place to stay.
One night my lovely neighbour started playing his guitar in his room at 2am on a weekday. Great player but c'mon man, people need to sleep.
For the entire 2 weeks at my stay at the Sakura I was sleep deprived. My only regret was not moving to another hotel sooner.
The staff here are fantastic, I can't fault them as they were very accomodating and friendly. The location is handy too. Sadly, because of loud noise at all hours of the night, I would not recommend this place to people seeking a peaceful night's rest.
Good location - tiny room
Mark Oon 17/07/2017 14:50Good points: very easy to get to on the Metro from the airport on the Z line (changing at Oshiage from the KS from Narita). A simple beakfast was included...toast, drinks and a clear soup that was really nice to get the day started. Location is also good for Shibuya and Shinjiku - both must see places. Friendly and clean. Nice kimonos to wear in the evening.
Not so good... Room was tiny. 2 bunks with very little floor space.
If you are familiar with backpackers hostels, you feel at home here. Relatively cheap for Tokyo and was a last minute booking so cannot complain too much. I would certainly recommend it if you don't mind shared facilities - which were spotless by the way.
