Great hotel despite smaller rooms.

This hotel is a great hotel conveniently located at the City Creek shopping center and has great views of the Salt Lake City skyline. The only disadvantage is the rooms (especially the bathroom) is quite small.

Our family spent one night at this property during our summer vacation and we would certainly stay here again if our travels ever bring us to Salt Lake City. We are gold level members of the Marriot loyalty program. This program really pays. Even though we booked the absolute cheapest rate, we were given a complimentary upgrade to a large double queen suite. The room was luxurious and very well appointed. Our gold status also got us entry into the Concierge Club where we enjoyed extremely tasty and filling dinner and breakfast at no additional costs. We saved at least $100 in restaurant bills by eating here. Check in was prompt and courteous, as were the valet and baggage service. My wife and daughter relaxed in the pool while I checked out the NBA finals on the tube in our luxurious room. After a long day on the road a stay at the Marriot was just perfect. Two thumbs up to the staff and kudos to the management. They deliver an exceptional hospitality experience.

Everything was perfect. Staff extremely attentive to your every need. The water container in the lobby was always filled, and this was during a large convention, where everyone was filling their water bottles for the day.

great hotel, great location, comfy beds

We have been staying at this Marriott for decades. We can count on the beds to be comfy, the rooms clean, and service great. The hotel has done a great job at staying updated. It is VERY convenient to downtown, including City Creek shopping, Temple Square, convention center, basketball arena, and more. The parking downtown is expensive, but they do have both self-park and valet options, and will always find you a spot. Once you get there and park, you don't have to touch your car again - everything is in walking distance. If you care about a view of the LDS Temple, be sure & ask if you can get a room with a view - the views are amazing. If you are there on a Sunday, just now that City Creek shops & restaurants are closed, but the hotel has a good restaurant. Sign up as a Marriott rewards member & then you can get free wi-fi everyday. They always have yummy citrus water and/or cucumber water in the lobby, and a bowl of apples. The Pie Pizzeria delivers to the hotel lobby, if you need dinner brought in. There is a Starbucks in the lobby, with lots of options. The bellman will let you borrow an umbrella if it raining. It is a short distance to Memory Grove and City Creek, if you are looking for a pretty place to run or walk. If you are flying in, you can take Trax there.

Walking distance to everything downtown

Situated right down town SLC - it's a great location for walking to the convention center, Abravanel Hall, Vivint Smart Home Arena (Jazz game), LSD Temple/Temple Square, Eccles Theater complex and tons of shopping/eating places. It's right next to City Creek Center mall. We had a room on the concierge level with a view away from the street side towards the Temple and State Capitol. Concierge level allowed us entry into the lounge for free breakfast, afternoon snacks and there is evening desserts which we didn't get back in time for. Room is a bit dated but very comfortable and clean. All staff was terrific and check in was a breeze via the Marriott app. We arrived a bit early and the nice lady at check in (sorry I didn't get her name) said sure, the room was ready and check in was complete. Thanks Marriott. This will be our stay from now on when we have anything in downtown SLC - or maybe anywhere in the area.
