Great find! (just bring ear plugs)
ptesingeon 21/06/2015 19:43This place is a gem if you're interested at all in history and typical European charm. The building was once the finest private palace in Torino. It's beautiful. (Check out the impressive photo book on display at the breakfast place next door, which details the restoration and many other fine details of the building.) There are many original details that have been lovingly saved/restored. The location is great. The security situation is great. It's clean. The owners are very lovely and very helpful. The breakfast (check to make sure it's included in your rate, definitely worth the reasonable price) is in an elaborate B&B next door that's not-to-miss if only for the setting! We just loved it all.
My only note would be that, while I normally always have ear plugs/ear buds+white noise for travel, I'd forgotten this time, and I was sorry for that. As you'll find in many old European cities, full of stone, sounds just carry along the streets very well. Unless you get a place with air conditioning, you'll need to keep the windows open in summer. There are not rowdy people or anything, but there are people eating dinner very late, so you can hear the sounds from that. And the recycling truck seems to come every morning at like 3AM. It's a pity.
There are some courtyard-facing rooms and I think these would be fine. We needed a twin room though, which necessitated an outside facing room. Great view! Just a bit noisy at night. But I don't think you'll find the same situation from most non-AC rooms in Turino.
All in all, we loved our stay here, A last note: contrary to another review I saw, we had no issues with the shared bathroom situation. We never had to wait once for anything.
Lack of courtesy
EnzoLeottaon 17/06/2014 12:58I looke for this place because filtering in the search engine was pointing me to a hotel with parking garage. Once I arrived there was no parking place then pubblic. I complained and I was almost asked to change my mind because I was still on time.
This was rude and I did not like it.
Moreover I had to call the people to open the door and there was no reception.
I do not advise to go there.
Great Stay in Turin
Gigi Yon 10/05/2013 04:28The room is very clean and the bathroom is excellent. The owner, Alex, is really very nice. There is free hot kettle in the room. It's near to Turin Duomo. Also, if you would like to go to Juventus Stadium, there is a bus stop nearby of which Bus No, 72 goes directly to the stadium. Alex speaks good English and we did no have problem in communicating with him.
It's highly recommended B&B and you would never regret of choosing here!
Highly recommended
Henrietta517on 25/10/2012 22:22I would recommend this stylish but understated B & B wholeheartedly (although the name is slightly misleading as breakfast isn't actually included). It is infact an appartment in a historical building conveniently located in the centre of Turin. Two friends and I stayed in a triple room which was comfortably furnished complete with mini fridge and we were pleasantly surprised to find a nicely furnished lounge with tea and coffee making facilities. We were lucky because we had the place to ourselves for most of the time and so didn't have to wait for one of the two shared bathrooms. Everything was spotlessly clean and I think very good value for money.
Charming place
manuw2009on 21/02/2011 15:12We spent our last night in Northern Italy in this B&B.
The room & appartment are gorgeous : a XVIIIth century overlooking the wonderful piazza Savoia.
Our room was a bit noisy (traffic & people from the piazza) but nothing you won't cope with.
