Off the beaten track and still a stone-throw from Milano

My wife and I were on our way down to Rome and we wanted to break the trip in two (FRA-ROM); SGH fit the bill perfectly.
We arrived as the sun had sat and as I rang the bell, the gates opened electronically to a large farm that, we found out later, was actually breeding horses.
Isabella received us, had us sign in, explained the setup and informed us of breakfast timing.
Although it was late we went out again and looked for one of the three restaurants suggested by Isabella. La Vecchia Arluno was nice, modern and set in what had been some kind of industrial complex but been turned into a shopping center of sorts. The food was substantial very tasty. We chose a red table wine and should have spent a bit more on a bottle of something better; the wine list on offer was diverse enough. The starter was octopus in a red wine sauce and it was excellent; the pizzas that followed were just as good.

Thanks to a good shower (bathroom is modern and very clean, a nice firm bed and a room that had been pre-cooled (we still had 30 degrees C at 10pm) we slept very well and went rested to breakfast.
The coffee was strong and good. Breads and pastries were accompanied by four types of homemade jams and prosciutto. Yogurts and fruits were also on offer.

SGH is a very nice Agriturismo that can not only be used to explore Milan and the region but also to just get away from it all, relax and read a good book.

We loved this place. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast could not have been better and the owner, Isabella, was so accommodating. In addition to her usual breakfast selections, Isabella provided a number of gluten free options for my son who has Celiac's (we notified her in advance). We were able to visit the stables and view the horses being exercised. We stayed three nights and used it as our base for seeing Milan and nearby sites.

On our trip back from France we stayed over for one night before we headed back to Germany. It is a wonderful place with a peaceful atmosphere. We could have a look in the stables and also our dog was welcome to run around. The vintage style of the hotel and the nicely arranged garden are completed with a generous yummy breakfast and Isabella is the perfect host and a lovely person. Thank you for your hospitality and the nice chats....

I was there with my family, the experience was great: familiar service, very nice rooms and all in a great environment. Breafast is outstanding. I definitely recommend it for hideaway stay in the middle of nowhere.

Excellent Overnight Stop

Just a one night stop as we crossed Northern Italy. Very comfortable room with good facilities. Excellent breakfast and very helpful hosts. We will definitely return when we make the trip next. Infinitely preferable to hotel!
