Clean, comfy hotel just outside Manduria
justcallmeryanon 21/07/2016 10:29Our room was clean, well presented, comfortable and easily accessible from the centre of Manduria. We were in town for a wedding and enjoyed having a quiet place to rest in between festivities. The host was very pleasant and was happy to have a chat (albiet a broken one with our terrible Italian) over a delicious morning cappuccino, which he made.
Typical to Europe, the 'breakfast' was not quite what we are used to from Australia, but enough to get you going in the morning. Worth noting that the hotel is not in the centre of Mandruria, but a short 2 minute drive in the car. Plenty of parking on the side street as well. Would recommend.
Really nice and comfortable
Giovanni_Colangiulion 16/02/2016 06:27I spent a night in this lovely hotel and everything has been excellent. Big, clean and smart room, very nice people. The dinner was simple but made with excellent local products. Very good breakfast. Easy to reach but not far from the city centre.
Hotel San Paolo- Manduria is a perfect cocoon to relax, chill, sleep, after absorbing the historic sights of Manduria!"
breezyFranceon 06/01/2010 20:48The rooms are perfectly accessorized and delicately prepared for the weary traveller. The service is excellent,(the owners are pleasant and welcoming), and donĀ“t make a fuss if you are a bit late for breakfast(food is still available)... The foyer homes various antiques and greets you with authentic historical and spiritual relics...it is almost as if you are in a miniature museum.
Though the hotel is close to a street, I slept like a baby. I did not hear one single automobile.
The hotel is in close proximitiy to the historical sights of Manduria, and easily accessible to neighboring sites of interest.
Tip: Make a point to visit as many of the 28 churches nestled in the town of Manduria. Very spiritual!
Check out the historical arch that one must pass through to enter the town of Manduria....construction dated 1698...AWESOME!!!
Please try the food at Osteria e Mercanti and the special restaurant that specializes in Puglian food, near the town center.
Also, ask the locals to point you in the direction of the Jerusalem scene depicted by a wonderfully talented Italian sculptor/artist.
The Puglian people are quite friendly.
Take in the sights of the daily Puglian habits.(Quite fascinating).
Then return to Hotel San Paolo and rejuvenate with a warm tea or an aperitif, then a necessary and wholesome sleep.
Boy voyage!
