Birthday Fun

Had a fantastic birthday party at Soho Sanctum. The venue delivered all round. We started with bottomless brunch and ended up dancing in the rooftop bar. Good food, attentive service and fabulous ambience with a great DJ in residence! 10/10. Highly recommended.

Soho's underground scenes were my haunt many years ago (80s - early 90s) therefore I gravitated to this building after 2 days of meetings at ExCeL. For £220 I got a silent and comfy room with tacky "rock" elements. As I come from the darker industrial quarter, I was not overwhelmed. My fillet steak, sweet potato fries and mini green salad was pleasing. The long haired receptionist gurl was exuberant and helpful when I checked in, somewhat distant and indifferent thereafter. In the restaurant, red tattoo boy and young blonde sidekick were professional and polite. Movies cost £6.50 and the well-stocked minibar comes at extra cost. Soho Sanctum leave merchandise in every room, t-shirts (£45) and toiletry bags (£25). This is a nice touch. If you buy in to their brand you won't get out for less than £300 per night for a double room but for me, and my memories of wild Soho subcultures in youth, it's a small price to pay. Thanku, I will return.

Weekend in London

Location is perfect. The hotel is a walking distance from shopping and many good restaurants. We had booked in advance few restaurants for dinner and lunch without looking at location.... and 3 of them
was a walking distance from the hotel. Small rooms but nice designed and helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely come back.

Awesome stay!!

Thank you so much guys for the upgrade! Although in the midst of London nightlife it was like being in a bubble! Everything was proper 💯Quirky decor, loved the bar in the room, top location. Perfect stopover as part of our anniversary celebrations 🎉

Nasty place pretending to be fancy

I visited this place for afternoon tea for 2 with a voucher worth £29.50 booked through Timeout, and right from the start things started on the wrong foot. I booked at least one month in advance and on arrival gave them their own booking reference code and they couldn’t find my reservation. I then had to rummage through my phone to find the Timeout voucher while the extremely unpleasant waiter stared at me while I was trying to find it. I eventually found it and he finally confirmed my reservation, always with a slightly moody demeanour. I thought things would finally pick up from there. We were asked if we wanted some water and we said yes, because we thought it would just be included in the price, or just plain tap water as there was no warning it wouldn’t be. We were brought two tea platters and told that we were upgraded, which made us feel quite lucky, but that it was maybe too much food. The food on the platters was quite mediocre: two small overcooked scones with butter cream and strawberries or cream (no jam?), finger sandwiches made with supermarket sliced bread, a brownie, a couple of mini pastry casings filled with some sort of chocolate sauce and a macaroon with butter cream inside. My friend asked for a tea refill without changing the bag, but we got charged for that, they also brought me some more tea but totally ignored the fact that I was having green tea, and just brought me breakfast tea which I didn’t touch, but was charged for and my friend asked for more tea after that and we were yet charged again without any warning. I ended up paying an additional £12 for a bottle of water, some extra boiling water, a breakfast tea I didn’t touch and another tea. Throughout all of this, we also had to endure the extremely moody waiter, who not only never warned us we were being charged extra, but also always acted like he was doing us a massive favour for serving us.
