New ownership!! Amazing stay !
comstocktraveleron 06/05/2017 19:09Took a spontaneous, last minute on a budget getaway ...wound up in Westerly, and googled hotels, and this place came up. I read the reviews, and they were terrible, but seeing nothing else was open yet for the season, so this place was the only place that was open . Well, the new owner ( extremely nice guy , let me know he just took over the place and hadnt done renovations yet ,but if id like to come by , I was more than welcome )....so I gave it a shot, and was happy I did. Only a few guests who were there , while he got this place ready for its renovations. Very quiet ,and this place us a diamond in tge rough, just needed some tlc and a good owner. I feel as though this place is going to be a brand new hotel with a welcoming vibe. This will be my go to spot from now on when im in town. Rooms were clean ,well kept,smelled good , no dust no rust ...and convieniently located to the beaches. I can't wait to see what the new owner has in store for this place , a nice American guy, we all know the lack of love in many foreign owned hotels ....check this nook out !!
No refund
ross1942on 11/09/2016 15:39Made mistake on date when booking hotel . Spoke personally with the manager and he would not refund money for wrong date booked when I stayed at hotel on Sept 10 not nice. Orbits called and also asked for refund while I was standing in front of him at the desk and he said no refund. I can't break policy which he could have done since he is the manager! Don't stay here! Place old, mold in shower, dated furniture. My room had a musty smell. Stains on furniture. Go elsewhere where the manager may work with you if you are human and make a mistake!
Reasonable but no frills!
Mary Beth Con 04/09/2016 23:35If you want a place to lay your head down after a day at the beach or exploring the area stop at The Sand Dollar Inn...that is what our family party of 16 did for 2 nights over Labor Day weekend...we were interested in sun surf and sand!!!..The motel is old and not well kept as far as grounds go...the beds are comfortable and rooms were clean... continental breakfast was same you find anywhere...owners are friendly people....area was quiet...no nonsense... situated about 3 miles from beach and 45 minutes from Newport!

donegaltinkeron 23/08/2016 01:26Had to stay there in an at the last second as due to a problem at another place. So my two choices were my car or this hotel. I should've stayed in my car. There's really nothing good to say about this place. I paid about $90 and it's worth about $45. Look for other places if you happen to be in the area.
Worst Place I've EVER Stayed
Mary Gon 21/07/2016 13:55First of all the room smelled like a mixture of: mold/urine/cleaning fluid, the shower would only give you hot water if you ran the sink simultaneously, the bed was a torture device....only slightly better than the worst motel I've ever stayed in and THAT one had a turd sunk in the bottom of the pool!!! On the bright side...there's no pool.
