What People are saying

Sandals, St. Lucia, La Toc

eastcape2000on 16/05/2017 04:46

We were at La Toc for 10 nights starting the 29th of April. Our experience was excellent. Service, in particular, was a strength of this resort. We had a Sunset Bluff Honeymoon Suite with Pool and butler service and it didn't disappoint. All restaurants on premises were very good with Pitons and La Toc being our favorites, but Armando's and Kimonos also excellent. Nightly entertainment was very good from live dance bands to jazz singers.

Our butlers were very personable and inventive in their attention to detail. After returning home, we are still emailing and texting them. Jesse, Don, and Sydney hardly missed a beat in making our reservations, and bringing us personal snacks in our room. One night they decorated our bedroom creatively and left a bottle of champagne. Golf was also much fun at this resort, offering five par fours and four par threes with a long par five added for the second nine holes. Caddies Selvin and Miguel were more than up to the task. Each employee on the premises was friendly and greeted us at every turn including those tending to the buildings and grounds. At the Bluffs pool, Yasmin was a special treat and became a friend of my wife. Her service was excellent. Thierry at the fitness center was excellent in motivating and encouraging.

As in any resort, some smaller details could have been a bit better. The dive operation required me to do a refresher course which turned out to be unnecessary. I think even the instructor thought I really didn't need the $80 course as I was the only certified diver with three other couples who had never dived. The one dive I did to the Pitons was excellent, but the maximum depth was only 60 ft. on the first dive and 40 ft. on the second. The dives were limited to 35 minutes, and I surfaced with 1300lbs on both dives, something that's never happened for me on any other guided dive. Also, we were at the beach two or three times before we found out that we should have been provided with a cooler with drinks. After asking, the cooler was provided, but probably we shouldn't have had to ask.

We thoroughly enjoyed our suite and used the pool several times. Others have commented that their pool was too cold to enter, but that wasn't the case with ours.

We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are already signed up to go to Antigua next year. Maybe that's the best measure of our first stay at Sandals. These vacations are pricey, but the standards at this resort make it worthwhile.

Perfect place for a honeymoon

Loved staying at this resort, it was very well laid out and not too large wth plenty of activities to do on the resort or off the resort. The only issue we had was the dress code in the evening for the restaurants, it did not seem to be enforced. This is fine except we never knew how to dress so we typically would get dressed up every night for dinner. I would definitely go back.

Nice Visit

The resort was nice. I didn't like the hill between the upper and lower part. I found sometime shuttles were sparse and it was quicker to just walk even though I don't feel like it. Returning to the room for a left behind item was a chore.

The staff was kind to everyone but there seem to be some discontent between them that made for a few uncomfortable situations. Not sure what is going on but they always made sure you knew who deserved the credit for a good deed.

We had a nice table one night and the hostess let us know that our butler was not the one who arranged the table it was her doing.. ( I don't care)

There was a mix up on some request and before I knew it there was he said she said between butlers... Again( I don't care just someone fix it)

That being said it is hard not to enjoy yourself at any sandals and we did enjoy ourselves. This would rank #3 out of the 4 that we have been to but I would still consider returning.

35th Anniversary Trip

Wow is all I can say. The resort, the food, the drinks, and especially the people made our trip amazing! Was a little nervous reading some of the reviews, but we had the best time ever. We arrived at airport and were sent to the lobby for a cold refreshment prior to our one-hour trek to the resort. It is kind of like driving through the Great Smokey mountains only on the opposite side of the road. Once we arrived we knew we were in paradise. We checked in through Club Sandals Lounge and then right up to the room! Everyone in the Club Sandals Lounge were so amazing and helpful. They even had our 2 reservations made prior to arriving! We were up in Room #6, Sunset Bluff, and we LOVED it! We walked in and found our welcome note as well as a chilled bottle of champagne waiting for us. Anicise was amazing all week with our room; she surprised us each day with a little something special! We would wake up and go for breakfast and then all week we went on excursions and tours during the day, but made it back in time for a cool drink and swim, prior to going to dinner. I can honestly say we had no issues with any of the food and/or service. You are vacation people, enjoy!! We also visited The Grande one day; it too was beautiful, but I was glad we had chosen La Toc. Thanks to John, the yah, mon man out front! Every day, we got a fist bump from him; Everyone was so amazing, friendly, and loving towards their guests! Thank you for making our 35th anniversary so special. I can honestly say, we will be back!

Just as good as we remembered

We decided to go back to Sandals Le Toc after marrying there twenty years ago - after reading some negative reviews I was slightly worried - but thank goodness we enjoyed every moment. We stayed up on the Bluff and had an Butler ocean view balcony with tub,one bed, this room was beautiful with the most fantastic views of the ocean - watching all the fishing boats and cruise ships sail past- ask for 2nd floor or above we were room 811. The bar was great fully stocked with our preferences and restocked daily. Our butlers Clovis & Naomi and Skyler stood in for Clovis a couple of days were great they made sure all our reservations were booked and sun beds reserved when asked and anything to make our romantic break special including decorating the room and canapés as well as running a bath on the balcony. Champagne included too - Wonderful! We stayed up by the bluff pool to sunbathe and Yasmen with her lovely smile, Neville and team kept us a plentiful supply of drinks & cocktails, great service, thank you! Also shout out to Christal at Neptunes exceptional service again! We ate breakfast mainly at Armandos nice views and table service. All the restaurants were fantastic, the Pitons in my view is the best wonderful service and food was super - even beat Le Toc by a fraction. You will never go hungry! We went over to The Grande which I loved all the beach furniture and pool bar right next to beach just seemed a bit more luxurious although I don't think the rooms would have matched our sunset balcony one on the bluff! Went on the joe knows tour which was a blast, so much fun! We also had private luxurious transfers which saved time and gained an extra hour at hotel before leaving. Grounds of hotel kept beautifully. We mainly walked up and down the hill but you can get your butlers to drop you off or the shuttle. They had just replaced the sun beds by the Bluff pool when we were about to go and they were super comfy. Weather was mixed and we had 2 days of yellow flag on the beach, nice to see and hear the waves though. A week was just not long enough!!
