A few days at the beach

We decide to take a quick trip to myrtle beach before the kids start school. The views from the rooms are breath taking. The rooms are clean and the hotel was quiet so that was a plus. We had 3 kids ages 5-7 and a 17 year old to please needless to they were sad to leave. The buffet was really good and the lady that serves you is very nice. We will stay here again if we go back

Wonderfull Stay

Good hotel, right on the beach. Very good amenities like indoor and outdoor pool, lazy river. Very helpful front desk. Room had kitchenette along with fridge n microwave. So we were able to cook which was great. Beds were comfortable. Best of all, we were on 18th floor and the view from balcony was unbeatable. That sound of wave in the night when things calm down and no / less noisy is just fabulous
We stay there through a vacation company(timeshare ) and not directly booked with SandCastle. So we were given a room without carpet and to make life worst, they didn't do housekeeping for those room that are allocated to people who book thru timeshare vacation. It was very uncomfortable.

Having said this, I have seen other rooms and like it and will return to the property if we decide to stay on South Myrtle, but will book directly with the hotel. I didn't like South Myrtle. If you are looking for clean n beautiful white sand, then go to North Myrtle.

I came here with caution after reading the reviews. I am not personally a hotel snob so I don't need anything special. We got the room for a good special compared to other hotels right on the beach. Our room had two Queen beds with a kitchen if you call it that. We had cabinet doors that would fall off when you opened it to get a dish. We were hoping to be able to cook while we were there the weekend to save some money but the kitchen area is just too small and has zero counter space. The room and hotel in general is really lacking proper upkeep and maintenance. We couldn't get into our room more than half of the time because the room keys quit working and then the door handle just wouldn't turn. Blankets on beds had stains on them. The water in the shower would go off and on while showering.
This hotel was fine if you are really on a budget but I would not come here again or recommend it.

Pros: oceanfront, right on the beach, elevators pretty quick, parking was convenient, tiki bar close to pool and beach

Cons: dirty, dated, wi-fi didn't work, pools were murky and busy and not well maintained, constant smell of pot and cigarettes being smoked on balconies, housekeeping did not change sheets-was told they change every other day but did not happen so I requested sheets and had to put on myself, housekeeping did not even service room at all one day, housekeeping did not give all necessary towels, very bad small on ground floor and water was pooling everywhere, elevators were dirty, mold on side of refrigerator , 5 am fireworks going off sounding like in the parking garage.
I do not feel for the price I paid that I got even close to my money's worth.

Wonderful Stay

I stayed there this past week, the 4th of July week. Had a blast! Was the first time I stayed here. The room was newly renovated, 2 queen beds, nice furnishings, table and 2 chairs, had a full kitchen. I was on the14th floor overlooking the ocean. I didn't eat at the dining facility, they serve breakfast. They offer free movie rentals, which I used. The room was surprisingly quiet, other than the guy that decided to keep setting off large fireworks until 3:30am on the beach! The place is kept really clean, no problems with the ice machine, the elevators, or front desk help. I would definitely recommend this place. Plenty of pools, and kiddy pools, hot tubs and lazy river. So it's a great family place, or solitude to just get away to enjoy the beach!!!
