OK Hotel

Limited services hotel, but for the price not so bad room was small though however as it was a very cold winter it was easy to keep warm, bed was clean and comfortable the only down side was the noise from 2 girls late in the evening and later early morning when they came back with 2 men who kept swearing and talking at the top of their voice and at 3.00 am back again with Mc Donalds of that they left all over the place, I had an early international Flight and was due to leave at 5.15 am so perhaps some security on the evenings to control the noise it was not just last Friday it was another 2 times during the week so it would appear to be an ongoing problem, but other than that it was fine special mention to the barman he was great, so were the Reception staff and the asian House keeper

A trip to the footy

We come every year to the footy and always enjoy our stay at hotel Launceston. The room are clean and staff are friendly.

Logan on reception was welcoming and great with service . Our room was ready but she offered to look after our bags and gives a call when it was ready. She also offer directions to a breakfast restaurant for brunch.

Hannah was great she remembered us from our last trip and came and welcomed us back.

The housemen who was looking after the hotel of Friday afternoon was great he was quite but delivered the extra shampoos and conditioners in a fast and timely manner.

What was to not good was our minibar wasn't restocked and we called for it to be restocked with the night team but it seemed to shrugged off. It not that hard to restock 2 chocolates and waters and cashews. We know this because Nikki on check out didn't know we had called , you could see was frustrated at this fact but she was still courteous and understanding of the situation.

Nick (supervisor) was pretty funny and made sure we always got a nice cold beer.

We still enjoy the hotel Launceston and will be back next year for another trip. So with that in mind their a few things we recommend simple fixes.

The light about the bed should be a warm glowing light not a bright white hospital colour.

The tv stand should me a moving Hinge and not fixed to the wall. Some time you wanna watch the tv in bed or a chair.

The bed we had was not locked it placed and would move when leaning against it . I like to sit up and ready the paper in the morning. Would recommend chuck or getting brakes for the beds.

I would recommend you check with your team about securing the curtains. We had ours letting in a lot of light from the balcony . I would advise to switch to senses on the majority of guest balcony that would save money of electricity and lead to less light pollution.

The hangers in the cupboard where all mixed up , some wire ones , it a simple fix but Unifying these make a little impressive count. The hotel water cupboard was a bit awkward finding instead of second cupboard.

Maybe Change the mini bar menu , get local beers and chocolate put in there, it will support local business building relationships and allow your team to recommend the shops and tours . Which leads to more business coming your way. Your Launceston so bring Launceston character to your hotel.

The bar booths look great. We always enjoy titanium bar but recommend you get and incentive token to uses at the bar on the big footy weekend. Maybe run happy hour longer or do a hotel guests discount like a 2-1 . Maybe a drink with meal toke or discount on desert.

Hope these help, I've worked at previously worked at Forbes and five star hotel and know you staff are your best asset, but if you don't give them the right tools you won't get happy guest and happy staff I hope management do wasted good talent.

A well run organisation with good clean rooms and polite helpful staff.
Central location only walking distance to CBD and other tourist attractions.
The restaurant and sports bar will cater to all your needs with polite clientele and helpful staff

Very poor set up. The heat pump sounded like a jet engine and was impossible to sleep with it on. The coffee mugs were also dirty. We booked a room with a view but instead got moved to a room which we were told had a better view but it did not. None of the rooms were very sound proof. However the bed was comfortable and tv had good amount of channels, thats the only good things i can take from the hotel.

Also the carpark is horrendous and impossible to get in or out.

Would recommend mecure but not hotel Launceston.

stayed here many times and have not been here for approx. 12 months and it was great to see that the same staff are still here and the whole place has a great atmosphere and the food in the restaurant is still great but a bit disappointed as the menu had changed and the porkbelly and salmon wasn't on the menu
