What People are saying

Beautiful Place

Lisa-in-Victoriaon 22/06/2017 18:08

We stayed one night on our way to Bend. Jerry and Maggie were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome and at home. The house is very well laid out. We were the only ones staying that night so we had the place to ourselves. Walk down to the river - its lovely to sit and watch the water rush by. We ate breakfast together with our hosts which is a first for us. Lucky for us as we watched the squirrels and birds all through breakfast. Our room was very comfortable with a small deck with the river view. The place was spotless. Jerry and Maggie do it right! I would not hesitate to stay there again. (Note: Jerry was an avid hunter and many of his prizes are mounted throughout the house.)

Beautiful spot but slightly uncomfortable stay

My partner and I stayed for 1 night during a trip to Mt Hood. The house is very impressive and has a beautiful garden overlooking the river. The host built everything from scratch and we were able to relax by the river with a drink before dinner which was lovely. We were really impressed with all the details in every nook of the house. The bedroom had a very nice view of the river.

The breakfast was a rather uncomfortable experience. Breakfast was at 8am (we were asked if that time worked for us, but didn't feel like we really had a choice).

Considering how lovely the weather was and how pretty their backyard is, we would have loved to be able to have breakfast outside but breakfast was served in the somewhat dark dining room instead.
Finally, we had to say grace before breakfast which, as non religious people, made us feel quite uncomfortable.

I understand that this is a B&B but this felt like we were guests at someone's home as opposed to paying customers.

Best B&B I've ever been to!

Not even sure how to start this, but from the moment we pulled in I was in awe. Jerry met us at the front door. As we walked in I was completely amazed. This home is beyond anything I've ever seen. From the decor to the detail in every corner of this home I was impressed. Then Jerry showed us around. There is the coolest theater room, a pool table, and so many little places to sit and enjoy the views. Our room was the biggest and best, as Jerry put it. The bed was magnificent. The accommodations were more than sufficient. And then the river view!! We finally met Maggie and I fell in love with this couple. The most gracious, loving and genuine people I think I've ever met. Sipping wine and chatting for hours was fantastic. Breakfast was wonderful as well. I just can't say enough about this place. Beyond all of my expectations. If you get the chance please stop here!

Wish we couldve stayed longer

My wife and I stayed at the Sandy Salmon for a night, but we definitely wish we couldve stayed longer. We rented the fishermans room and loved our stay. Jerry and Maggie could not have been better hosts. Even though this location is right off the highway, the sound of the rivers drown out any noise. It's almost as though you're in a cabin in the woods. The breakfast was fantastic and there was also a nice coffee station with more syrups than World Market. We'd stay here again if we were to return to the area.

Huge tip for anyone planning on staying at a bed and breakfast found on third party websites: contact the bed and breakfast directly about your stay and price and they'll more than likely match it. This nets them more money without the hassle of going through other websites.

The Best Bed and breakfast in the state!

What a wonderful place to stay beautiful rooms with your own bath! You can hear the Sandy and Salmon Rivers meet and it sounds like you're at the beach! The Hosts Jerry and Maggie Emmert make you feel at home! Wonderful Breakfast and a snack in the evening! The sightseeing and Mount Hood are fantastic places to visit! Make sure to put this on your Bucket list! Sincerely Joanne Ramseth
