Quiet with friendly staff and a lovely view of the water

We stayed here for a weekend, as the birthday of a friend's father was held here in one of the hotel's event spaces. There is plenty of parking, If you're bringing your car. The reception office isn't much to look at, and it's rather awkwardly decorated with a mannequin with a horrible wig and wearing an even worse-looking bedraggled 80's nightmare of a wedding dress. But the staff is nice, so that's a plus!
The rooms are laid out in little buildings. Ours had a nice patio with a side view of the water. The room was nothing to write home about. My mattress was kind of lumpy, but it was clean and had everything we needed. And the best part was how quiet it was. We really enjoyed the great sleep.
In the mornings, we enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Go early or they'll run out of the best bread. When the weather is nice it's really nice to sit outside and enjoy breakfast.
As I mentioned earlier, we went to an event there as well. It was nicely attended by the waitstaff, who were polite and always kept drinks coming. The food menu was supposed to be tailored for the occasion, but there was a wedding going on that weekend as well, and both events had the same exact food. A bit unexpected, because everyone thought we were eating South American style food. Oh well!
We had a lovely stay, and would stay there again. Great proximity to the cute town of Zinnowitz, and also close to the harbor for boat rides. I am not sure, however, if id come without a car. You can rent bikes, but it's a bit of a trek to get to Zinnowitz.
Good place to stay

Nearly perfect place with the one exception that the rooms are very clairaudient.
Rooms were tidy, a varied breakfast and a beautiful terrace with a great view for having dinner.
Maybe a fridge would be nice.

Peace and quiet in a wonderful lakeside setting

We chose the hotel because everywhere we might have stayed in Zinnowitz was full. And we're very glad we did! Wonderful peaceful setting next to the lake, with especially good views from the restaurant and its terrace. I assume there are rooms in the main hotel, but we were in one of 8 houses, each with about 6 rooms, in the grounds. Rooms, bathrooms, and the main hotel were extremely clean. Beds were comfortable. Room windows have mesh so that you can open the windows without being bothered by mosquitoes.
Buffet breakfast was plentiful, with a very good range of dishes. Evening meal was excellent.
There is a free bus to the seaside beach (about 1km) in the mornings (and back if booked in advance), but we walked. It's about 600m to the railway station, with services to Züssow (connections throughout Germany), to Swinemünde in Poland at the end of the island, and to the V2 rocket site in Peenemünde. There are a supermarket and a restaurant on the way to the station, and several restaurants in Zempin town.
The area is a haven for cycling, and bicycle hire is available at several places. For walkers, there is the choice of walking on the beach (about 60km of it!), through the forest, or on the cycle paths. Small cafés provide refreshments near the beach. The main promenade from the town to the beach is beautifully arranged, with a new amphitheatre being built; there is a lot of comfortable and convenient public seating, and clean public toilets.
Excellent for small children (as well as the beach and the sea, there are several playgrounds with equipment), but not really recommended for older children because there is a lack of amusements. However, those are available in Zinnowitz, the nearest large town.
Lots of wildlife: herons, cormorants, swifts, and two miniature pigs roaming the hotel grounds!
Our only criticisms: there were no tea- and coffee-making facilities in the rooms; there is no WiFi available.
A quiet and friendly place

We chose it because of a very good price even for a short stay in high-season. The rooms are spacious, well insulated. The beds are good, everything was neat and clean. Breakfast is very good with a large variety of different dishes, also local fish, something for everyone. The staff refills fast, so even when your favourite isn't there, just wait a moment, and voila!
The place itself is interesting because the island is so narrow that you can walk from the inland beach to the seaside beach in 10 minutes! In the village there are good fish restaurants.
At night it is extremely quiet and we slept sooo good during our stay.
