Hotel is a bit old and the rooms small, but the facilities are satisfactory and the garden setting is very pleasant. Location, near the Pyramid is great, and with easy access to the tram line, buses, subway, and walking distance to the train station going to the airport. Also walking distance to lots of neighborhood shops and great restaurants. Modest breakfast and nice small lobby/sitting room. Basic bathroom amenities (no shampoo!). Small bar. Prices are reasonable for Rome.

Hotel Santa Prisca is situated close to Circo Massimo, and within walking distance of the Colosseo. It is convenient to get there, as you can take the train to the Ostiense station or the metro to Pyramide.Both are within walking distance.
The hotel is located in an old building, has a garden and a terrace. rooms are not very big, but clean, as are the bath rooms.
Breackfast is very good, with fresh fruits and dolces included.
Nice staff too, ready to help you with advises.

The hotel is over 50 years old, and shows its age. The rooms are small, my queen bed takes up about half the room, and my body touches all four sides of the shower curtain at once. That said, the hotel, room, sheets. towels, are clean and fresh. Smoking is allowed in rooms (mine had a ashtray) but the rooms do not have a stale smoke smell at all. The floor is concrete so that probably keeps the odors from sticking around. The bed is a memory foam, as are the pillows. Different, but OK.
The staff is friendly. The hotel is tucked away in a neighborhood so not right on the street. Other hotels I checked were booked so stayed here. I would probably look for something a little nicer next time, but if I had to stay here again for a couple nights, it would be OK.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past 20 years and , although I have used several other " upper crust" establishments in Roma , I still come back to this one occasionally. I know what to expect and it does not disappoint. It is central, in a traditional area with great " trattoria" style restaurants with excellent quality at reasonable prices for this city ( but you need to reserveyour table!), not the tourist traps of the centre, and it boasts a super garden that is ideal to park, for free, your car.
The hotel, rated 2 stars ( albeit luxury 2 stars..) is quite spartan but over the years has made many improvements and delivers good basic hospitality. Breakfast is Italian style, and Italian breakfasts are usually quite inadequate anywhere, so do not expect much , but coffee is good if you ask for a Capuccino or an expresso which you get free of charge..rooms are an heritage from the "convent era" , and I still remember when the Prisca was run by Nuns and rooms there where truly basic..! But rooms are ok now, small bathrooms/shower only being a feature in all under3 stars Italian hotels.
The Santa Prisca is quite charming in spring/summer because it has outside space and a lovely garden. Prices are a gem for central Rome.
All things considered a good and very pleasant budget choice.

Handy for location and a large free car park, the rest is best described as spartan. Basic rooms, limited breakfast choice, kind reception. For those without special requirements of comfort, not particularly cheap.
