Best Bargain in Strasbourg's Historic City Center of La Petite France

    JolieB_2012 on 02/07/2017 19:26

Hotel and staff were fantastic. Very conveniently located just a block or so from the all of the action of the city center, also known as historic district of La Petite France in Strasbourg. They are undergoing a name change and was surprised I couldn't easily find it on Trip Advisor because it's called Hotel de Tonneliers but it's listed under another French name.

Quite contrary to the reports, it was an amazingly quiet place. I had the best night's sleep in a very comfortable bed and a nice, hot shower in the morning with the lovely soaps and shampoo they left in my private bathroom. The breakfast was a great bargain at only $8 Euro's - considering I paid $5 Euros for a mere cup of coffee and croissant offsite. The breakfast had some fresh fruit, croissants, and some really nice Brie cheese and other cold cuts. I wish I had eaten at this quiant little nook instead.

Young couple are the new owners and they were wonderful. Marco let me use his Uber account to get to the airport and I paid for it via credit card on my hotel bill. This is THE best bargain for a clean, safe, quiet hotel just steps away from the Cathedral and all of the outdoor cafes and city center in La Petite France in Strasbourg. I would not stay anyplace else.

    Dinner was perfect!

A long day was culminated with a perfect dinner. My husband had the pork knuckle and I had a most lively salad. The staff was committed to making our meal the best ever...and it was. A small, and lovely setting. I would highly recommend this wonderful place to everyone.

Functional accommadtion in the centre of town

The hotel is centrally situated and was good value for our money. The room is very small, but served our purposes, as we planned to spend only one night in the town. We did not have any meals in the hotel. Service was friendly.

    Nice enough.......

We stayed here for 1 night whilst travelling back to Dunkirk from Italy.
The hotel is very small, with no lift so not disabled friendly.
Lots of parking nearby, underground and overground , but as we arrived peak time Friday evening it was a bit manic, and the streets are all one ways, so it takes you twice as long to drive than it does to walk, and we also had a high van so height restrictions put paid to parking nearer the hotel, but we found a spot 5 minutes walk near the hospital that was free overnight, you have to pay from 9 in the morning and can only pay for 2 hours at a time.
The hotel is in the heart of the city, very pretty place with lots to see and do plenty of restaurants including one in the hotel, we didn't eat in there so cant comment.
Walls are very thin we were awoken by the very noisy couple in room 4 if you get my drift and once again in the morning.......we did laugh!
Didn't see the proprietors much, just when we checked in and out, but they seemed friendly enough.
Room was clean with a nice bathroom and handheld shower, my sisters room had a shower no bath so that options there also, room has TV but no tea/coffee making facility's, the option for breakfast was given at check in for 8 euro pp.
I will be returning to Strasbourg again in the near future as we only had 1 night there, but i think i would look for a hotel with parking facilities on site and get the tram into the city, which is beautiful! This was a last minute option booked on the day, but a good choice overall.
