Awesome view!
cheraugon 08/05/2017 02:59We just returned from our stay. I rented a condo at Sapphire Beach Resort through vrbo.com. I need to say that I was a little nervous when the taxi turned off the road to enter the resort. As you come down the driveway you first see un-kept tennis courts and overgrown weeds. But if you look out past the resort itself you see a beautiful view. Once we entered the condo and looked out the sliding doors I knew I made a great decision to stay here. The view is awesome. We were on the bottom floor in building D and looked out at St John. The pool was very close, only a few steps away. The pool itself was nice but there was an abandoned building beside the pool with ply wood blocking it off. It looks like it might have been a grill or bar previously and it's a shame that they don't either fix it up or tear it down. It's definitely an eye soar. There is a beach bar on the property and they apparently do serve food but we didn't eat there. The beach near the bar is more crowded but the beach area right outside our condo was good enough for us. Very quiet! Our condo had everything we needed. There is also a deck outside and it was great to wake up in the morning and sit outside and just enjoy the view. We had rented a car and were able to get around on the island just exploring and finding great places to eat. I would definitely stay here again!
Best beach on the island!
Mireillesson 03/05/2017 15:12Sapphire beach was the best beach on the island much better than Magen's bay beach in my opinion! Even though Magen's bay is beautiful, cruise ship and the crowd just take away from your relaxing experience. We rented a condo thru Airbnb at sapphire beach resort and marina and the duplex condo was beautiful! Waking up to beautiful sunrise everyday was a sight you never forget! You are right on the beach with an ocean view you just can't find at any of the other resorts on the island! (Trust me I have searched) The marina is close by for any activities you wanna try, the beach bar has decent views, and red hook is less than a mile away. If you plan on visiting other parts of the island I recommend renting a car! Ferry to St. John is in red hook and 20 min away. We went one day and rented a jeep on st John and drove thru the entire island, beach hopping, which was amazing! I will most definitely be back to st Thomas and I wouldn't stay anywhere on island except on sapphire beach! You can't beat the snorkeling or the view!
I had a wonderful experience here on a one week stay
AngusMacTavish0on 01/05/2017 21:36Nothing is perfect. Nothing. When I arrived, Shamara told me my reservation had been cancelled. When I said 'that's OK, I'll come and stay at your house', she moved her computer keys and assigned me room A305. It was far better than the room I had reserved: a duplex with a King bed and 2 sleeper sofas, 2 full baths, a full kitchen and two terraces overlooking the beach with spectacular views of St. John, Tortola, and Jost Van Dyke, as well as several smaller islands. Was it perfect? No. The fridge only worked in the freezer and the kitchen sink was a bit gnarly. So what? The beach was great with not one but two reefs right in front of the hotel. There is also a marina adjacent to the resort. I would gladly stay here again. Check out the view from my terrace!
Beach Saved the day
Gill Fon 27/04/2017 04:04We were in room a203. Got an upgrade from the Yacht Habour Suite which was much appreciated as we were direct on the beach. Couldn't work out the beach beds we weren't allowed to sit on the beds close to Crystal Beach but only allowed to sit on the one close to Sapphire Beach despite the fact they all have the same markings on. When a cruise comes in the beach can get really busy but there is still plenty space. The place is all fairly run down but the beach and swimming and views are amazing, we went to Red Hook every night and had to get a taxi which was only $4 each. Great holiday specially the trip to BVIs from the marina especially Virgin Gorda and Jost van dyke.
Very Nice condo on beach.
Sulli47on 21/04/2017 13:22Sapphire Beach resort is not a resort. It is a condo complex with a very run down pool area and a beautiful beach with very good snorkeling. Our condo ( rented on VRBO) was in building D overlooking the water and St John in the distance but also overlooking a very run down pool area( the ducks loved swimming in it each day) . It needs some TLC. The condo was very close to RedHook and the ferry to St John. Slice VI restaurant , in the Sapphire Village complex next door.was very good. If you want to be away from Charlotte Amalie and on a beautiful beach it will be a great spot. There is a public Beach next door that got very crowded when cruise ships were in port. Nearby Coki Beach was also very nice.
