Cant really say much more as I didn't spend much time there only sleeping.
yes it was cheap but not cheerful.
Worse Than Last Year
Sarah Won 17/01/2017 18:35We stayed here over Christmas n New Year, this was our 3rd Stay n 5th trip to the Gambia. Last year we stayed in A Block which was very quiet this year we were in Benidorm block on the ground floor. I asked for a room at the back but this was not allocated although the hotel was quiet. The noise in B Block from the strip is horrendous, you may as well sleep outside.
The biggest disappointment was the change in management and staff they were no where near as good as last year. It was even hard work trying to buy a bottle of water from the bar. There was no atmosphere this year.
We will go back to the Gambia but here.
Shocking
Rupert_09on 09/01/2017 08:57Stayed here with my family for one night after our flight had been delayed, It was appalling. We supposedly had a "deluxe room" with AC. The room stank. There was one dirty towel with yellow stains on it. There was no hot water. The smell coming up from the shower and sink drain was revolting. Most of the lights did not work. The bed was very hard - like sleeping on a wooden plank. The hotel is on the strip and so you are kept awake until 5am with the partying. (I did think about going to join them at one point!). Breakfast was a shambles - tiny room (about the size of a large lounge) serving the whole hotel. So nowhere to sit. No cups or plates. The small selection of food had mostly gone. The general feel of the hotel is run down, neglected and shabby, Avoid - it doesnt matter how cheap it is, it's not worth it.
Not even as a last resort..
Benjamin Son 05/01/2017 16:36I had to stay here for a night due to a flight delay, I wouldn't stay again, even if I was paid to. It was fairly chaotic during check in as there were many of us, tired and fed up at 0300, and just wanting to sleep.
On being shown my room, the decor was drab, and the room didn't not appear to be particularly clean. On further inspection, there was no towel for me to use with the shower, but that didn't matter too much, as there wasn't a shower, just a mixer tap over the bath. I wouldn't have wanted to stand in that bath, or anywhere near it.
The hotel is situated on 'the strip' and there was music playing from the local club, which was loud and intrusive. Interestingly, there was also someone using power tools, like a electric drill until well after 4.30 (the last time I checked the time). Most definitely not recommended.
Stayed here due to cancellation of flight
bacardigirl2017on 03/01/2017 16:32We stayed for one night at this hotel after our flight was cancelled. We arrived at 4am and the hotel porter was obviously not familiar with the lay out of the hotel and tried to take us to a room which was already occupied. This made me worry about the level of security within the hotel as we had already noticed that general public appeared to be using the bathroom facilities in the reception. When we complained the manager upgraded us to a ground floor deluxe room. However, the bed linen was stained with what I can only assume was human body fluids and we requested a change of bedding.
We had left all of our toiletries at our hotel and we requested something to wash with and clean towels which we did not receive
The hotel is also located within the Senegambia strip and loud music could be heard until at least 5am.
I would not recommend this hotel.
