Good Food and Onsen

TanSSon 06/04/2013 09:03

This roykan is also listed as Konashinoyu Sasaya and it is located in Awanoyu, one bus stop before Shirahone Onsen. The return bus fare from the Alpico Bus Terminal in Matsumoto to Awanoyu is Yen3,400. Sasaya is a 5mins walk from the Awanoyu bus stop. The ryokan setting is rustic. Rooms are large and clean with attached toilet. The rotenburo is for private use with no charge; rather small but water quality is good; hot and milky white from the sulphur. The indoor bath is large and in warmer weather the glass panel windows open up to the outside affording view of the forest. The dinner was very good; although horse sashimi is not my but the serving here was very tender and not gamy. Service at the Roykan was very good.
Shirahone Onsen is about 15mins walks away but the public onsen was still closed for the winter.
