Under renovation

Our room was renovated and fresh with very comfortable beds ... plenty of room
The bathrooms are modern but the showers are quirky with no place to put your soap and shampoo nor a place to hang a towel
Concierge floor was nicely renovated and the service at the concierge was very god as was the snack and dessert selections
Located on the river it is an easy walk to all attentions so once you park your vehicle it will stay parked until you leave
Enjoyed Our Stay
IrishFrauon 30/03/2017 21:31Since I made my reservation on Marriott.com, I received a welcome e-mail explaining that road work made some routes inaccessible and directions to avoid problems getting to the hotel. The staff who checked us in were friendly and efficient. Our bags were delivered to our room in record time. We were in an un-renovated room, but it was certainly adequate. There was work going on in the public areas, but it didn't really affect us. During peak check in time, there was extra staff to answer questions. All in all a good stay, except the concierge lounge which is woefully in adequate (10 tables for a hotel with over 400 rooms). One morning, there was no coffee or plates for at least 10 minutes. So, the employee scheduled to work in the lounge didn't show up. Senior management - what is your back up plan to take care of your most loyal customers?
Better for Business Travelers
Amy Non 27/03/2017 14:06Given the location on Riverfront, this is a rather dull hotel. The two bars are overly bright and non-inviting. They would be nice for a business meeting, but not to unwind and have fun. The room is your typical Marriott room, but a bit dated and for a Marriott was loud. I could hear noise from the hallway and other rooms. The hotel staff is friendly and professional. The location at the end of the riverfront was fine for us, because we enjoy the walk. They need to take advantage of their outdoor deck on the river and make an inviting seating area with bar service and a fire pit.
Under renovation = Horrible experience!
law410on 24/03/2017 23:01Regrettably, when we booked this hotel via the Marriott website there was no mention of it being under renovation. My husband is a Marriott Gold member so when we checked in we were given a room on the Concierge floor, although concierge service is not available on the weekends. The bellman said we were fortunate to be on this, the 8th floor, because it was the first floor renovated. However, after being in the room just a few minutes it was clear the renovation was not complete: there was no light over the desk, no lighting over the bathroom sink, no shelf in the shower to put your soap & shampoo on, and the bathroom sink was painfully slow to to drain (so slow we had to brush our teeth in the shower). (Yes, we asked for another room but were told they were sold out.) At 2:30 in the morning we were awakened by a domestic quarrel in the hallway and pounding on doors, so loud security had to be called. The next morning we decided to check out vs stay the second night as booked and my husband left a handwritten letter for the hotel manager outlining our complaints. This was two weeks ago and we have yet to receive a response.

lilnetnetlenee16on 22/03/2017 19:41We went down to Savannah for St Paddy day weekend. This hotel was awesome all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The lady that checked us into 510 and 512 was awesome and patient. The jello shots were great, (the person who made them did great and was very nice as well as the female with Australian accent). Thumbs up to Tony he was very helpful as we left on Sunday. I have recommended this hotel to everyone that asked me about my trip lol. We will definitely return this summer.
