What People are saying

An island of peace in busy Rajasthan

Adriana-Ashwinon 10/06/2017 21:37

We stayed at Savista in the middle of a tour throughout Rajasthan. Our plan was to sleep there and take day trips into Jaipur. We arrived late at night after an endless day driving though traffic. From the moment we stepped foot into Savista we felt calmer, and we were whisked off to a late dinner for two by the pool under the moonlight. We were so enamored we decided to forget about Jaipur and just take two days to stay put and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. The entire place has a refined combination of minimalism with earthy traditional elements. For breakfast we enjoyed fresh fruit, fresh yak milk (!!!) muesli and more. Dinners had a wholesome, simple elegance. The hosts go out of their way to create a special, personalized experience. We visited a nearby village and a block printing house, took walks, played a little tennis, and lounged in the pool. This is a quiet, peaceful place that makes you feel a world away from the hectic energy of the cities. Highly recommend for people looking for a unique, not-so-touristy piece of heaven.

Beautiful place to stay, with incredible hosts

We stayed at Savista as part of a three week trip to India this year. From the moment you walk up the driver to Savista you know that this place is a real gem.

The property itself is absolutely stunning. Located away from the hustle and bustle of Jaipur, it is about a twenty minute drive into town and to the Red Fort. This makes it a great place to see the city, but also have some time to relax. Savista is a countryside oasis and features a great pool and extensive gardens. There is a lot of wildlife to explore and a brilliant tennis court.

What makes this place though is the hosts, Radhika and Bhanwar. They were so lovely and regularly made time to say hello and help us out on our trip. They can arrange transport for you as well as give expert advice on the surrounding area and the city of Jaipur. Equally they are happy to let you relax, and we found them to be the perfect hosts. We also thoroughly enjoyed their home cooking which features daily vegetarian Indian dishes.

We hope to be back at Savista as soon as possible, highly recommended!

Such a beautiful gem just outside Jaipur

Myself and two friends stayed for four nights at Savista Retreat. This place is indeed a retreat and a home away from home. I felt like a guest in someone's home. Meals were absolutely wonderful - fresh, home cooked flavours and delicious!!!! All our needs and plans for the time spent exploring Jaipur and surroundings were looked after by the owners.
My only regret is that we didn't factor in some time to explore neighbouring villages and local life which was easy to do. All three of us left with plans to return for a longer visit! Hopefully not in the too distant future.

Highlight of our trip! - Magical place with amazing hosts

We spent a few magical days at Savista this April and all agreed this was the highlight of our trip. After a busy time in bustling Jaipur city, this stunning retreat just outside Jaipur in the countryside was exactly what we needed. The setting is utterly beautiful, peaceful and unique. Set in an old hunting lodge - the rooms and house itself are stunning, set in a gorgeous well established garden which smells incredible due to the rose and jasmine flowers, and ancient Neem trees. Radhika and Bhanwar went out of their way to make our stay so special, it was my son's 7th birthday and they put on a delicious bespoke birthday party lunch for him, arranged a special camel cart ride locally and truly went the extra mile to look after us. The food is also absolutely delicious! Our hosts also helped us arrange a visit to a local block printing factory in Bagru which was fantastic. We will definitely be returning and wished we had stayed longer. Cannot recommend more highly!!

Excellent Experience and Hosts

Savista is a short drive from Jaipur city, and affords a unique and enchanting cultural and green experience. The old hunting lodge has been restored by the owners with eco-design in mind. Water conservation practices and amazing organic garden are a few examples. The meals are made from produce and grains grown in the garden - local dishes that are absolutely delicious! The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated with local textiles. It feels like stepping back in time without losing the modern conveniences. Most importantly, the hosts are wonderfully warm and resourceful. It's a lovely place to stay and experience the true hospitality of India.
