Worth the visit for the surroundings and the spa

Nice family room of 4 but for a 4 star hotel one would expect the bulb of the lamp to be inserted and the lamp to work
Fantastic sauna
Unfortunately good indoor swimming pool but too many children- kills the pleasure

This hotel, a former ClubMed base, has been renovated in its fundamentals so your room (i.e. superior) will be comfortable and realistically enjoying a great view, but it will be very tiny and the lack of an armchair where you can sit is sometimes to be felt, especially with weather that forces you indoors…
The spa is very impressive and the massage treatment area outstanding, but the spa is heavily understaffed, which implies sometimes aggregation of loud small groups in resting area and around the tubs of the calidarium…
Breakfast probably is within the 4 star requirements, but an effort of phantasy could be required and a wider selection of products offered, in the line of the many other 4 stars in the valley…
The restaurant offers an à-la-carte menu which appears to be interesting in the vision and illustration, but unfortunately the execution we could test was almost miserable while the prices are aligned with those of the restaurants and gastronomy “cartel” operating in the valley…
The staff is ok, but limited in numbers – so, for instance, the lobby bar is frequently, totally unattended…
The building itself is absolutely charming as a castle, but the long, sticking line of a dog’s pee departing a column in the façade and touching the entrance red carpet rested here for the whole week of our stay…
And so on. Too many “buts” for a 4stars charging a 4 stars tariff in an area that raised prices with the waves of Russian tourists a couple of years ago, made them flee, and did not lower the tags today.

Very nice hotel, very friendly and helpful staff;
good breakfast buffet, superb half-board (late dinner) in Italian style;
good location in a small, nice town of Pontresina;
complicated parking lot- tight, problematic exit

Very Italian vibe and newly renovated rooms. We never had dinner, just breakfast. We usually took the bus to get to/from the hotel everywhere which was really convenient. Consider coming by train to Pontresina. Parking seems to be a problem. We enjoyed the spa area and the sauna. I also had an excellent (and not overpriced) facial. The bar area is not cozy, the music is horrible and the service lame, but there are really nice restaurants in walking distance. All in all, probably not a five-star hotel, but perfect getaway for the area.

Excellent Hotel team. The only thing that I have to criticize is that many "small" extracts (e.g. late check out after 12:30 p.m., even if easily possible) are charged extra. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are typical Italian Style, good quality, just great to have that in Switzerland. Nothing for Non-Italian-fans though ...
