Nice getaway near Düsseldorf airport
S. Hon 11/06/2017 15:15Beautiful setting in an old castle surrounded by a water moat. Enjoyed a walk in the gardens- more walking and biking trails are in easy reach.
The restaurant is very popular and we just managed to squeeze in by eating rather early- reservations are recommended .
Even though the castle is ancient the rooms have been modernized completely. Lovely spacious and expensive bathroom design. Largest towels I have ever had in a hotel!
One downside - the AC did not cool the air, and because of the water just outside the window, mosquitoes ventured through the window which had to be opened to get cool air at night.

Overall the hotel is a good opportunity to change daily routine and feel yourself like a royal. You won't regret staying there.
Fun and interesting with excellent service
MassTraveleron 05/02/2017 00:27Spent one night at the castle for a conference. Enjoyed an evening dinner in the dining room. Very good service and good food. Staff is well trained, courteous and helpful. My sleeping room was large and very comfortable. The castle is very hold, completely modernized, and fun to stay at. I am sure there is lots of history that has happened there over the centuries. Happy I was able to enjoy and experience this property. Thank you.

Very good level of cuisine although the menu does not change very frequently. Unforgettable breakfast with wide choice of organic products most of which are home made. Nice Christmas decoration. Even if not far from Dusseldorf airport you can sleep very well.
