Came here twice on the same day: once for a beer before visiting the castle Neuschwanstein and once after the visit to eat something. Very cosy place with good service. Has a typical fireplace-stove. Very good goulashsoup also.

it was a great place to stay but this hotel and the sister hotel Jagerhaus are now closed.
Too bad it was such a great location close to everything with a good restaurant and helpful
staff. Just trying to get the word out that these places are not open

Charming hotel with best view of the castles and NYE fireworks

I was able to book the last room for this hotel on NYE and I couldn't be happier with my selection. As this was the cheapest price for a hotel stay during my 2 week trip throughout central Europe, I was a bit hesitant about the quality I would get. First off, the pictures posted do not lie. The town and the hotel are so charming. You have great views of both castles and a few steps away you have to Alpsee Lake. The lake in itself is so beautiful with the Alps in the background. We stayed on the second floor corner room (rm 22 i believe) and this was the best room. The room and bathroom were huge! The room even had a couch to lounge on. We had perfect direct views of the castle from each side of window. Even better, we had front row seats to the fireworks over the Hohenschwangau Castle from our room.
Breakfast was included, and it was the best selection I've had during my trip. The breakfast room was charming and had great views of the town and castle.
I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who plans to stay in the area.

Great pm spot to visit Neuschwanstein castle

Great location and very good value, we had a large corner room on the upper floor and the views of both castles was excellent. This hotel seemed to be the closest to all attractions in the town. The museum was also a very short walk and the hotel gave us complimentary admission tickets.

Good location, few mins from the bus stop and the ticket center for the new castle etc... The room is classic decorated thought it seems the hotel is quite old as my room is short circuited twice during my visit over there in one night. And the restaurant is early closed at around 7pm, so you have to get to other place for dinner.
