Traveling with the family

We had been here over 15 years ago and figured we would give it another try and were not disappointed, the location as beautiful. We stay in a room with a mezzanine, actually when you enter the room there is a small couch and then a spiral staircase take you up to your room. Room is huge as is the bathroom, very clean and cozy. The breakfast was excellent with a well assorted buffet. The hotel has a kegel bahn, which is German bowling, lanes are smaller the balls are smaller and there are only 9 pins, we had a ball playing. the citadel is small and doesn't have a lot to see but the surrounding area has many places to visit. If ever in this area a visit to this hotel is a must.

Realy nice room with a view

Stayed here for one week in one of the "maisonette" rooms with a view to the river.
The food we had vas really good, service awesome.
Free gym (tiny one) with the ping-pong table in the same room but very hot, no air conditioning unit inside.
The pool was a nice bonus, not too big but not small either.

Room fabulous....... but a work in progress I think

Positives first - our room was amazing! A downstairs lounge with a couch, wardrobe and shelves; and a really beautiful bedroom up a spiral staircase. Open plan, with a lovely bathroom and a really lovely relaxing feel, Everything modern, new and spotless (which we weren't expecting in such an old building). Breakfast was lovely, and we were lucky enough to get some nice weather which meant we could have breakfast in the lovely courtyard. Now the not-so-positives - some parts of the hotel look as if they are awaiting their 'spruce-up', and this is probably why the room rate is so reasonable. We were disappointed with the sauna and pool - they definitely are in need of a face lift. Also, on the Saturday we were there a large wedding was taking place at the hotel which meant the courtyard cafe was closed to guests...... very disappointing. Would I stay there again? Definitely! I imagine that once the hotel is all done to the standard of the bedrooms it will be out of our price range - but in the meantime... go!

Family stay

Had a wonderful night in beautiful Weilburg. Only wish we could have stayed longer, room was ideal as there were two separate rooms which meant we had the kids safe yet separate in a defined space with shared bath and toilet. Breakfast was great, loads of choice and quality. Staff are helpful and the hotel grounds are amazing and steeped in history. I would gladly have spent a week here. It's worth the short trip from the A3 to get here.

So much more than we expected!

This is a lovely hotel with friendly and efficent staff who also speak English (My German is very poor). The hotel room was really nice with a view of the weir, river and town. We ate in the hotel - unusaully for us, a buffet meal and I really do not know how they managed to provide such quality for a very reasonable price. We only stayed one night but, as with everywhere on this trip, we wished that we could have stayed longer.
