Had a lovely meal in really nice clean surroundings staff are very pleasant meal was fresh made warm and really tasty , this restaurant is in a small town really clean plenty of shops pubs restaurants everyone we met was very pleasant very helpful

Calm hotel close to Autobahn, perfect stopover

We were looking for a hotel close to Autobahn between Hamburg and Bremen for just one night and found Schröder. It was a pleasant stay. The rooms were clean and had just everything we needed, the staff was very friendly during whole our stay. We had dinner in the restaurant during the evening and the food was properly cooked and tasted very good. Early in the morning we were served a typical german breakfast in all its positive way. Ham, wurst, cheese, fresh bread and everything you might feel for in the morning. Everything served with a smile! The only thing that could improve is the WiFi in the rooms. It was perfect in the public areas but did not work in the rooms.

Coming Home

Tucked away in a small village halfway between Hamburg and Bremen, seeing the lights on from the distance when you approach the hotel, you immediately know you've come home.
The welcoming and friendly atmosphere and greeting adds to your "having arrived" feeling. The rooms are very comfortable and spic and span. The exstensive breakfast next morning is prepared by Christine Schröder, who not only ist the owner of this lovely hotel, but she is also the matriarch. Chef Christine takes great pride in preparing regional northern german specialties for lunch and dinner and no detail will escape her attention.
Her most competent sons, Detlef and Michael make this family operation truly stand out.
Everytime a wonderful experience and we shall return again and again.

Perfect way to break a drive

Hidden away gem with excellent restaurant. Stayed on my way to Hamburg and was very pleased with the value for money in a comfortable room and good breakfast. Plenty of parking.
Would definitely stay again.

Clean and Comfortable

We stayed here in a double room for one night in October, 2012 along with three other family members in 2 separate rooms. Upon arrival, the management was very courteous and all of our rooms were ready. We had requested a nonsmoking room and were surprised upon going in, that it smelled heavily of smoke. The management immediately moved us to another room when we told them and indicated that the previous occupants would face a surcharge. The room was clean and had all the basic amenities (including a TV) as well as 2 complementary bottles of water. There is free Wi-Fi at the hotel, but ours did not work well in our location (room 1). However, when I checked with another in our party who was located around the corner he said his internet worked well, so I guess it just depends how close to the router you are.
The shower worked fine and there are soap dispensers on the wall as well as a hairdryer. We did not hear any noise from outside or other rooms, so were able to sleep well. The bed mattress was firm, but comfortable.
We did not have dinner at the hotel, but breakfast was included and included a nice selection of almost anything you could want. We had an early flight out of a nearby airport, and they even went out of their way to make our breakfast available 30 minutes earlier than usual so we could eat before we left for the airport.
I would stay here again if visiting in the area, and do not hesitate to recommend it to other travelers.
