Disappointing

Location is great. Beach across the street and walk to the bay. Away from the busy village and quieter streets. Nice pool, barbeque area, well kept grounds and outside hose for cleanup.
Wifi is a hassle.
2 bedroom efficiency is not comfortable. Tiny queen bedroom barely allows for 2 people to navigate the room. Dresser squeezed in and only a small bar for hanging clothes.
No light filtering drape in twin room. Very bright at night due to spotlight just outside.
No coffee table (no room). Quite tight for 4 people.
Bottom line, nice location, good amenities but overpriced for a "budget" room.

Dirty, cramped, and surprisingly rude front desk.

We stayed at the Sea Spray for a few nights last summer. It was about 15% cheaper than surrounding hotels, so I decided to try to save a few bucks, but that ended up being a mistake. When we checked in, it was late so we just brought our bags in and went right back out to grab a bite to eat. When we finally settled in for the night, I noticed that the top of the bed closest to the door was covered in sand. Since I was the first in the door, I knew that no one else had brought in the sand, but it,must be that the room wasn't cleaned very well before us. It was very late and we were tired, so we just showered and got into bed. Not only was there sand on top of the bed, but it was spread throught the sheets underneath as well.
The next morning, we complained to the front desk. Instead of apologizing, they said that my son must have tracked the sand in, and that it "happens all the time with kids".
I explained about how I was the first in the room and found it that way, so they said they'll look into it.
When we checked out the next day, the front desk said "their best cleaning people were spoken to", and that we were wrong about the room being dirty, effectively calling us liars, again with no apology or explanation.

Besides all of this, the tiny refrigerator in the room barely got cool, plus you had to have fingers the size of a child in order to open the door with the way it was wedged into its cubby hole next to the teeny bathroom.

All this just to save around $30 or $40 (the room was $240/night).
I could have booked a suite in a nearby hotel for just a little more, and I doubt they would have been as dirty, cramped, or the front desk staff as shockingly rude.

Also,you get to swim in a small pool with babies in diapers when the beach is closed. The baby pool is part of the adult pool, so they chlorinate the heck out of everything. adding chlorine as people were swimming in the middle of the day.

Fun hotel on Long Beach Island!

We really got lucky finding this place and literally used the "Hotels Near Me Now" program on the TripAdvisor app to find this hotel. We found several nearby but when we walked up to get a room they were all booked up. One of the managers at another hotel called over to the Sea Spray and helped us get 2 rooms for our family. We confirmed that the hotel was decent using the TripAdvisor reviews as a gage.

We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel's location right on the beach offered a fun atmosphere with quite an amazing dinner in their restaurant.

We skipped the pool it looked too crowded and a bit unappealing. However, the beach was really neat. However, we did learn that there is a strong undertow, so best to just sit on the shore and not plan on swimming.

All in all we thought this hotel was charming and great for the price.

We also found Long Beach equally charming and eat breakfast at a great place in Surf City. I will do my best to review that soon.

Great location

Great motel! Close to the beach and within walking distance or a quick ride on the lbi shuttle or drive down to all the places in beach haven to eat. Front desk staff is very nice and helpful with recommendations of where to eat.

Cleaning isn't everything

Room smelled clean but I feel should've room should've been more more upgraded. The bath tub needs to be resurfaced -- unclean. Refrigerator had so much ice built up. Since I booked it at a higher rate but I didn't get the lower rate when I checked in. We left the night before checkout because was so much noise people using the grill and noise in the room above us. Disappointed.
