Fantastic Stay
bikerimpon 15/07/2017 15:19What a lovely, hospitable person Gill is. We were made to feel right at home from the moment we walked through the door. Room was comfortable, clean and spacious, even with all our motorcycle gear. Breakfast was amazing and cooked to order with local ingredients and home made bread, delicious and plentiful and definitely set us up for the day. We could not have wished for a better place to stay.
A warm welcome in the heart of the village
Carol16on 20/06/2017 18:49We got a very warm welcome from Gill. Sea View is right in the heart of the village (Porlock, not Porlock Weir, if you're walking the Coastal Path). She made us a cup of tea and was really helpful and friendly. The rooms and bathrooms were great and there was free wifi. Good breakfast too. We stayed in a few places along the path and some b&bs had lots of rules and regulations. Sea View is much more relaxed and it felt like we were in a home, not a hotel. We ate in the Ship across the road (which is called the Top Ship as opposed to the Bottom Ship in Porlock Weir!) and that was excellent, with good food and beer.
Exceptional accommodation, superb quality breakfast in a beautiful period property
Steve Won 18/06/2017 23:00Exceptional accommodation, superb quality breakfast in a beautiful period property with plenty of charm and excellent facilities (under-priced too boot). Gill is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly but never intrusive. Good location for walking literally out of the front door.
Price ridiculous cheap thought there was a catch -there is nt! (that’s why I read TripAdvisor reviews) was one poor review – and very unfair in my opinion re size. I ve been in smaller and more expensive rooms.
I stayed in the smallest room (the one criticised) baffled me and prompted the one only time to write a review in response; can only assume the reviewer was expecting “West-End” Ibis Hotel type accommodation? There was ample room – I extended my stay for a week!
Breakfast relaxed; cooked to order with local ingredients. The Homemade Pies a meal in themselves (if you buy a packed lunch). Award winning family run Pub around the corner too for meals in the evening. I know it sounds unbelievable it is nt.
Lovely warm welcome
hermy01on 02/04/2017 21:07Gill is so welcoming and helpful that you are bound to have a great stay here. Good location in the village. Fantastic breakfast-huge choice. Wonderful home made bread. I had the single room. It was a good size. Comfy bed and good shower. Lovely stay!
