Dinner

Nice friendly place. Good food, pricey. Great to gather with 3 other couples(tables of 8). Garlic topping is my favorite! Scallops are great too!!

Excellent

Went for my sons birthday, first time there. Had filet, chicken, steak and scallops, food was great! Our chef was very entertaining and cooked everything perfectly! Fried rice was really good , so much food. Will definitely be back 😊

Not What It Was

CubFan1948on 06/01/2017 01:42

We used to go to Rokbonki quite often with friends for birthday celebrations, but have not been there in quite a while. Now I see why. To us the experience has slipped quite a bit.
We went there for New Years Eve. We had a 4:30 reservation, which was all we could get. It was a family dinner with our Son, Daughter in Law and two grandsons. We thought it would be a fun place for dinner with them.
The food was mediocre at best. The soup, which we all had was overly salty. While the salad was good it was tiny. The shrimp appetizer was a bit tough. As far as the entrees go my wife and I each had the Filet and Chicken Combo. The portions were very small. The filet had good flavor, but was tough and the chicken was chewy. One of the boys had the children's chicken, which was chewy and the other had the steak which was OK. Our Son and Daughter in Law both had chicken and agents good flavor but chewy. For desert they used to give you a choice of ice cream or sherbet, this time they just brought sherbet.
Price point to me was high for what we got. Overall it was just OK. I can't see us going back.

Still very good. But not quite the same.

We were there for a holiday get together. Food was very good. They have changed a few things that we were a little disappointed about. They used to serve you bean sprouts and now they serve noodles. They were fine but we preferred the sprouts. We remembered the scallops being a lot thicker. They are cutting them too thin in our opinion. We are huge fans of their Tokyo Sauce. That has changed as well. It used to be yellowish orange (the color of egg yolks, the main ingredient) now it's more pinkish orange. It was still good just a weird color. Two of us had the beef which was amazing. Their fried rice Is the best I've ever had. The chefs are usually so much fun but ours was kind of a dud. In his defense, we were doing a lot of talking so maybe were weren't as attentive as we could have been. We'll be back but with a little lower expectation.

Hibachi Fun For All

Robert Zon 03/09/2015 15:42

Our family has a tradition of going to Hibachi around Christmas. This year was out turn to find a place. Reviews were good online so we gave it a try.

Food was great, showmanship was fantastic. A little pricy, but you do this kind of thing for entertainment as much as for nourishment.

Overall we would go back, but after saving up a bit.
