Quaint little place...
ProfDrMauson 28/05/2017 13:55...in the heart of town, just off Duval St.. Reception is staffed from 9-6 only, arriving outside those times means calling up a number and waiting for someone to arrive. Communal areas and rooms are stylishly decorated, very pretty in parts. Had a room with a terrace on the first floor, which was spacious enough although there was nowhere to sit except for the bed and neither was there a desk or a vanity unit. Comfortable bathroom with a nice shower, lovely and spacious terrace, overlooking the small pool.
Breakfast time is rather limited (8.30-10) and breakfast itself was nothing worth writing home about, unless you like booze in the morning: there were bubbles there, so you can make your mimosas for breakfast if you fancy that.
Staff was friendly and efficient and the entire place felt rather welcoming. Although I am not really into B&B´s but more of a hotel-type person, I would come back here for a night or two.
They Gave Our Room Away
GatewayEastCoaston 16/05/2017 18:22We booked our hotel room on April 4, 2017. We were so looking forward to staying here as we booked one of the luxury rooms with a private terrace. Our goal was to relax and be able to yoga on the terrace each morning. When we checked in on May 11, 2017, the manager changed the room we reserved and pre-paid for with out notification. Although we received an apology note on their Facebook page that said the individual was under training, the only resolutions they offered us was a 10% discount on our room or to move us to a sister property for only one night because that is all that was available and then they didn't have a solution after that. Unfortunately we didn't really have an option because so many rooms are booked for the festival this weekend. The room we ended up in was a small king size bedroom (room #1) with no balcony and situated right next to the front door, the kitchen and the front porch. The foot traffic in the mornings was loud and we had almost no privacy except to completely shut the blinds and black out curtains. And needless to say, no room for yoga. Absolutely disappointed in the management of this property! One positive note, Dmitry at the desk was very nice and did what he could to help us. He went out of his way to help us find parking and to try to fix the situation. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. If we didn't receive the bait and switch on our room, we would rate this higher.
Also, don't wait too long for breakfast. The cheese was left out all morning in the heat. By 9:30 it was almost melted. Not edible.
A great spot for Hemingway fans!
Marcia Won 09/05/2017 14:37I highly recommend this B&B in Key West. I had spent hours searching for a room for two that was close to Duval Street on a Website that offered discounted rates. I saw Seascape there and I read good reviews on TripAdvisor, too, so I went to their Website and booked.
Our room was small but very cute and clean and the beds, a queen and a full, were as comfortable as my own at home.
We were never disturbed by other guests even though the courtyard was shared by everyone. It was a quiet location despite being so close to Duval!
We enjoyed their breakfast buffets (the fresh fruit and bagels and mimosas!) and we fell in love with their cat Mario. He became our cat when we arrived, when we saw him lounging around (not in) the whirlpool. Since he didn't have six toes we figured he was rejected by the Hemingway home next door. So we gave him lots of extra attention and he liked that. He looked for us and we for him.
There is a pool at their sister B&B a few blocks away. We appreciated that the owners allowed all guests use of it.
Their staff was very polite and helpful. We will be back next year.
Vacation
Tanya Ron 29/04/2017 15:47What a fabulous little place. We stayed in the Havana suite it was perfect! I parked right out in front of the house for four days. There are roosters outside so sleeping in is kind of hard. They also own the Duval Inn two blocks away and let us use the pool just ask. The hot tub was fabulous. Breakfast needs work but you can bring your own things to cook too as the suite has a kitchen. I can't wait to go back. There is no one on site after 6 pm but that was not an issue for us.
EXCELLENT LITTLE BED AND BREAKFAST
1MANIKon 21/04/2017 21:17My wife and I stayed last year and had a great time , Very clean and comfortable place . Parking is a short walk away . Very courteous staff, Very nice to be away from the madness on Duval St. but close enough to get there after a short scooter ride , Breakfast was excellent . Also I read the part about booking unlike the bad review before me. This place is excellent . Please do them a favor and don't blame them for your own stupidity in not reading what you fill out , Personal responsibility is an adult thing most don't seem to get. I highly recommend this place for couples wanting a peaceful place at night .
