Wonderful two night stay with amazing food
EMTxyzon 24/08/2017 19:49We came with two friends and fell in love with the lovely old building. The building has a few shortcomings but these are all in keeping with a listed building , if you want modern then you go to an appropriate hotel. The dinners we had were exceptionally good and the menus very well thought out, slightly different to the norm but were amazing. The full English breakfasts were also good. All the staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. We would like to return.
One of the finest English hotels
gauiuson 20/08/2017 07:56My family and I came here during public bank holiday in May 2017. It is without hesitation a beautiful setting and those of you who like old country Manor style places will love this place.
Food wise very good, service also very good although a little sluggish. This I feel is due to the public holidays and my impression was they don't cope well when fully booked. Example, dialing reception 3 times with little success and eventually walking over to the main building to wait for someone as there was nobody there. All requirements are routed through reception, there is no separate house keeping department, room service etc.
Overall for me these were minor issues and I would still return. I did point out a bee nest above my room 39, the junior suite in the court yard. I hope it was dealt with.
It is a very good hotel and I would recommend it to anyone who wants beauty, total peace and relaxation.
2 night break
jk26142on 18/08/2017 23:19The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with well kept lawns. The staff were very polite and helpful. The room we had was a standard room (the only availability), was very clean and comfortable albeit a little on the small side.
The only criticism we had was the inefficiency of how the restaurant was run at breakfast. On both days we had to wait a long time for our cooked breakfast. The staff had to be reminded that breakfast items needed to be replenished on a number of occasions. The 2 staff serving were totally rushed off their feet. It is very obvious that more staff is needed in this area, and a manager that has organisation skills to help the restaurant run more sufficiently.
Apart from that my husband and I would definitely return and I would recommend this hotel
Amazing hotel, amazing staff, We can't thank everyone enough for a perfect day.
sheena592016on 17/08/2017 16:55Seckford Hall helped us out when the meal for our wedding fell through six days before the ceremony. When phoning seckford hall they said that they are able to help and they sorted out everything. A massive thank you especially to all the lovely staff. The meal was amazing, the service was out of this world, the grounds are stunning and the room was fantastic. The breakfast we had the next day was delicious. We will definitely return and my daughter and her fiancée have shown a interest in spending their special day there too.
"A Truly Fantastic Weekend at Seckford Hall"
Adrianwalleron 15/08/2017 16:51If it were possible to rate this with 10/10 then I would.
My Wife and I booked the weekend of 11th, 12th and 13th August 2017 at Seckford Hall to Celebrate the marriage of our Daughter. We booked most of the accommodation also. Friday afternoon began with a complete swim and spa sessions for the ladies of the bridal party, during which they were all well looked after ensuring a relaxing start for the following two days. Friday evening we held a close family get together for about 30 people. This incorporated a BBQ which was well prepared, cooked and presented and set the tone for a complete weekends celebrations. Throughout the evening the staff looked after each of our guests as well as ensuring that their accommodation was as expected.
Saturday Morning began with a very early start for the bridal party with a breakfast for the ladies in the bridal suite whilst the hairdressers and makeup artists did their thing. Once more the management and staff were on hand to ensure that everything was running smoothly and to plan.
Breakfast for the remainder of the party was in the main dining room, and met every expectation.
The front of the Hotel was conned off to ensure that there was ample space to accommodate the wedding cars as well as ensuring some great photographic opportunities set against the backdrop of this wonderful building. Once more the management and staff directed the complete operation, meaning that my wife and I didn't need worry about the detail.
On Arrival back from the Church our guests of approximately 100 were given a red carpet reception, directed to the tea garden where they enjoyed drinks and canapés.
The Wedding breakfast was held in the Lakeside room which had been well prepared and looked stunning for our guests, throughout the meal every guest was looked after with management overseeing the complete event.
By 9pm a hog roast and falafels awaited the evening guests, fireworks behind the lake ensured that the evening went off with a bang.
Sundays event was the second part of our celebration in the form of an Indian Hindu wedding ceremony held on the generous lawns of Seckford Hall. Once more the staff looked after all the additional 100 guests with the same attention to detail. Likewise accommodating the Indian specialist caterers in the hotel kitchen was no trouble.
Throughout the whole weekend the management team and staff were truly wonderful in how they looked after our many guest's, nothing was to much trouble which included the house keeping team who patient in the extreme, since we were late removing all the things from our rooms.
If you are considering this venue for a wedding, look no further. I truly commend it to you.
Thank you to the owners, management and staff of Seckford Hall.
