Had the joy of staying at this hotel for several days. stayed in room 513 having a fantastic unlimited view over Bodensee. Very kind personnel, clean and well organized. Easy for parking and central located - working distance to center of city.

Just to the right of main station and buses, some helpful receptionists, lovely hotel

Lovely hotel, lovely rooms, curtains and blinds ok as they block out light, quite good wifi, spacious lifts, a couple of helpful receptionists-one Noijhr-excuse but did not catch name properly-helped us out for Flixbus information even when Information just outside didn't; another young, tall receptionist on duty on Friday 17th August around 5/5.30 pm, was even willing to come over to PC place to see we managed the online booking.

A hard review to write

I so wanted to write a different review because this hotel has a lot of good things going for. It has a good location, friendly staff, nice rooms but it is also has some real drawbacks. Were I paying €90 a night for a cheap and cheerful chain hotel, I'd be fine with it but at €169 per night, I expect so much better. The key problem is that it needs a serious training course in customer handling and internal communications. Firstly, booking. We booked for 3 nights but then found we had an extra day so wanted to add a night. Rang hotel. No, not possible. We are full. Went onto the hotel's own website and extended without problem. Plenty of rooms. Got a few dirty looks when we turned up but it was a simple, standard room booking not as if we had asked for the Crown Jewels. There was a problem in the restaurant and they solved that really well ...after we complained. Then there was the failure by Housekeeping to make up the room. We asked reception on our way out and they said Housekeeping would get to it. No problem. On our return, Housekeeping hadn't. Back to reception and we asked for towels, tissues and toilet paper and went out again. Came back to find towels and tissues...but no toilet paper. Sigh. Reception? No problem, sir. Friendly response. Nice people. Very helpful attitude but....Breakfast is good but the restaurant is way too small. Long queues (guess where I'm standing typing) and people setting up their own tables in the reception area. Again, if this was some low end bed and breakfast or motorway Gasthaus, yes, well, that's ok. However, it's not. Claims to be 4 star and charging for it...basically, if I'm paying high end prices, I expect the place to not make me track down toilet paper or wait twenty minutes to be seated for breakfast.

Business like with friendly touch

We have stayed here on many occasions over the last thirteen years but this was our first time for a couple of years.

Well positioned near the station and within 10 minutes walk of the centre of town, this modern and well equipped hotel has had some rooms updated since we last visited. We stayed on the fifth floor in a newly converted room with huge bathroom, separating sitting area and large bed. Plenty of storage for clothes. Only thing absent was a safe for valuables.

Free wifi which not eh whole was reliable but sometimes signal a bit weak.

Good breakfast choices and staff always polite and welcoming. Secure underground parking.

We had an excellent stay and recommend to anyone looking to stay in Friedrichshafen.

A problem magnified by a lie

Seemed like a good location, and a nice facility. We had 2 rooms for a stopover going from Switzerland to catch our river cruise in Nuremberg. Problem arose when we returned from dinner. Weather was uncharactericly warm and one of the rooms was stifling hot, with warm air blowing out of the air conditioner. I went to the front desk to discuss and was told they would have a repairman come in the morning. I said that did not help with making. It livable to sleep in that night,land was told they would have a fan Sabrina. Ought up. I asked if it would be possible to switch rooms (I had checked on Booking.com and there was availability to reserve) but she said there were no rooms. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was not one on duty. My son and his girlfriend therefore had to get by with a hot, uncomfortable night. The next morning at checkout I complained to the young lady checking me out, who said she did not understand why I had been told no rooms were available as she could see 2 rooms open. I understand things happen, and sometimes customer service is less than desired, but a direct lie to a customer, is something I have never encountered. I stay in hotels 50-75 nights per year and will avoid Seehotels and would advise the same to others.
