Weekend at the Tegernsee during wedding
Thomas Gon 27/06/2017 09:03We stayed at the Seehotel Luitpold during a wedding of friends - and enjoyed the stay at the hotel a lot.
The staff is very friendly, the view is quite marvelous (see view balcony) and the rooms & open places in the hotel (bar especially) are very nice decorated.
Breakfast is nice, but you might get some alternative within walking distance direct at the Tegernsee with lower costs
Relaxing lakeside getaway
on 11/06/2017 23:29Great for a relaxing couples getaway in a beautiful part of the Bavarian Alps. Connections from Munich were surprisingly easy. The room was large and well appointed with a tremendous view of the Tegernsee. It was walking distance from the Train station, local beer gardens, and hiking trails. The restaurant had excellent local cuisine, beer, and a well appointed wine list. Breakfast was a neatly done, white table cloth affair with an excellent selection of meats, cheeses, and breads. The staff's attention to detail and service was evident, from our concierge personally handling our bags, to his anticipation of our morning coffee habits. We plan on being back.
Great view on the lake with friendly staff
olrehmon 28/05/2017 19:30The hotel is situated right next to the lake, one of the four ferry lines stops right in front of it. The "Lake Sauna" is next door.
There is a restaurant/bar on the ground floor with very good food, and breakfast was also plentifull and diverse. Unfortunately, the lake road which is also passing right in front is rather noisy, which hurts the atmosphere on the terasse in front a bit.
Our room was generously-sized and comfy, and had two balconies, one with a great view onto the lake with the sun setting behind the mountains on the opposite lake side. Note that there is no lift, so you will have to take the stairs. The noise from the road is not very noticable when the windows are closed, and calms down a lot after 10pm or so.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Overall this is a very nice hotel, except for the noisy road right in front. If you don't mind that, it is a great place to stay.
This is what dreams are made of.....
KeBenningtonon 23/05/2017 15:51Hotel Seehotel Luitpold was so charming from every aspect, easy and convenient parking across the street. Shortly after walking in and sitting down to check in a bellman wisked our bags to our room and then delivered he key to our room moments later. The room was stunning. A gorgeous view of the lake. Romantic and sumptuous four post bed. Wonderful bathroom. All the staff was wonderful, friendly and so very helpful with lots of insightful tips on where to go in town but also on the rest of our trip. They were more than accommodating, we slept in and they still brought us cappuccinos and croissants on the front patio to take in the view before we had to head out. I cannot wait to come back and stay longer.
"Amazing Stay at Lake Tegernsee in the Bavarian Alps"
RobKrackeron 29/10/2016 17:12Bavarian Hospitality in a historic Hotel with old world charms and modern conveniences. The Seehotel Luitpold is situated on Lake Tegernsee and has its own front door parking. This quaint town has all the hallmarks of a Sound of Music setting. Beautiful views, lush green mountains, peace and tranquility.
The rooms feature large Bathrooms with modern European amenities. Great view from the balcony and a great place for smokers to escape for a puff. The rooms are all non smoking and smell fresh and refreshing. The feather downy beds are amazingly comfortable and the staff attentive and accomodating.
The owner, Mr. Alexander Sego oversees personally all aspects of the daily operation. His life long experience in running 5 star restaurants and hotels in the USA and Europe shows in the details.
A lavish Bavarian breakfast buffet starts the day off right with dark flavorful Coffees, fresh baked breads and a smorgasboard of sausages, cold cuts, cheeses, cereals, yoghurts, eggs ala cart any style, fresh juices and fruit. The Bavarian speciality " Weiss Wurst ", a local white sausage served brewed in hot water and served with sweet mustard and a pretzel is to die for.
The day starts off with wonderful hikes in the surrounding mountains that offer different trails for light wandering to steep hikes. Down by the lake there are electric motorized boats for rent that any novice can operate. A lazy cruise around the lake is a perfect way to take in all the sites.
There is a local brewery and beergarden that serves some of the worlds best beer brewed on site that is second to none, brewed from the mountain waters that are pure and unspoiled.
The lake invites to strolls and walks that are restorative to the mind and soul. Some traffic distracts at times, but after a short walk hidden paths lead away from the streets down to the quiet and peaceful shores of the lake. This is simply said, a slice of Bavarian Paradise. I highly recommend Seehotel Luitpold.
Also be sure to sign the guest book before you leave. It is a collection of famous names of the uppercrust of Bavarian and International Society.
