What People are saying

High quality accommodation and restaurant

CaithyRon 11/11/2016 17:01

A very nice place on the lake with beautiful views. The standard room is simple but cosy. The bed is very comfortable, a lot of shelves to keep your belongings, good bathroom amenities and very clean. Unfortunately no safe and tea and coffee maker. But they have a minibar with wine, beer and soft drinks. The breakfast is just great - one of the best breakfasts l've ever had in Europe. There is also a sauna. They also offer great lunch and dinner - buffet or a la carte. The restaurant is always busy. There is not much to do around the area but if you have a car it is a perfect place to stay.

Relaxing Business Escape

A lovely charming hotel. The staff are friendly and speak a host of different languages,
Breakfast is a lovely spread of fresh cheeses, hams, fruit and breads, there is also a fresh eggs counter cooking different styles of eggs,
The hotel is on a bank of a river giving a relaxing atmosphere, bar in the evening sets you up to take on the challenges and opportunities you may face

Good starting point to discover Berlin

Josh1Ron 06/10/2016 08:50

Albeit located at the outskirts of SE Berlin in Dahme-Spreewald county of Brandenburg state, Seehotel Zeuthen on the lake is an excellent location to start your discovery trips of Berlin. From the tranqulity of the Spreewald and the nice Dahme Lake to the vibrant mega city centers, East-, West-Berlin, it'll take you just 45 minutes by urban train (S-Bahn) to get to Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to and from Zeuthen train station (5 min. ride), just request your ride directly in the lobby or phone from the station. If you wanna walk to the train station or back to the hotel, well. it'll take some 20-30 minutes, depending on your walking speed. It's a neat and quite modern conference hotel with wellness components, free wifi and excellent complimentary breakfast buffet (in the hotel's restaurant). Staff is very friendly and attentive, responding swiftly to guests' demands. Standard rooms are equipped with minibar, fixed line phone, flat-sceen TV (one English language channel though, CNN), desk, chair, arm-chair, semi-closed wardrobe, mirror. Bathroom with toilet has an integrated shower / bath tub combination. For seniors needing a walking aid ('rollator') or handicapped people climbing over the 2 ft high rim of the tub seems to be a little bit tricky if they wanna take a shower. With this special exception of the standard room, the hotel is barrier-free via elevators in each section. There are only few power-outlets in the room, I counted three - one free socket on the desk and one near the hotel room door and one near the window, so take respective precautions if you need more outlets. The three energy saving lamps in the room are quite dim due to low wattage, a change to brighter LED-lamps is really recommended. Another speciality is the outdated key-system. You always need to lock up the door by yourself in order not to encounter nasty surprises. It's highly advisable that you leave your key at the reception - but don't forget your hotel ID card or other personal means of identification. The hotel is also pet-friendly, even big dogs are welcomed here. There are also enough free parking lots at the hotel if you arrive by car. For tourists arriving at Berlin-Tegel airport, the trip to the hotel by underground and overground trains would be quite an adventure, esp. when you arrive during rush-hours in the morning (6-9 am) or afternoon (4-6 pm). The hotel provides an English-speaking website, the reception has 24/7 service.

Nice but showing its age

Comfortable and clean to stay at but it is starting to look a bit threadbare and dated. There is no AC so it can be warm in the summer but there is usually a breeze off the water to cool things off. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is fantastic.

Little known gem on the lake

I stayed here for a conference and must admit I was skeptical about the hotel. But I was most pleasantly surprised during my 4 night stay. I asked for a room facing the lake during check in and received the last available one. It had two twin beds and it took a bit of getting used to sleeping in a twin bed. But the sounds of frogs in the pond outside helped lull me to sleep. There was no other noise all night, so it made for a blissful rest. The room was very clean by the way, if a little worn. Breakfast was excellent. Other meals were fine, but not to the point where you would make it a dining destination. There is a moored boot on the lakefront, which makes for a great spot for a sundowner. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. I greatly enjoyed my stay!
