A mixed bag
thetwowandererson 17/06/2015 21:40This hotel has good points and bad points. The good points are it is a nicely decorated hotel with good sized bedrooms and large ensuites. The bad point is that it is used by tour groups and on our visit breakfast was a problem. The tour groups all came to breakfast at the same time with the result that when we arrived for breakfast there were huge gaps - no fruit - no eggs - no white rolls - no water for tea. This would not have been a problem if things were replenished quickly but they were not. There didn't seem to be anyone in overall charge to supervise so things were a bit hit or miss. This was a problem on all 4 mornings of our stay. On each morning there was at least one thing missing.
In the evening we thought we would try the restaurant but again this is geared up to coach parties as it is a buffet with not much choice. There was soup, a choice of two mains and two desserts. It was ok but nothing to write home about. There is a good Greek and Italian restaurant just along the road.
For the price we paid we could have got better elsewhere. It may be ok if there are no coach parties staying but I would not stay here again
Excellent value for money
emmajohnson2014on 08/10/2014 16:23Brilliant wee hotel. Not a five star but then not pretending to be either - instead a really fantastic 3 star hotel. Value for money is impressive, lovely food, excellent friendly service, quiet comfortable and discreet. I stayed here as I was running the Berlin marathon - it was a great place to return to for recovery afterwards! Only thing on the down side is that it is not near Berllin City Centre, if that's why you are travelling, however the trains are excellent (oh how I envy the Germans their transport system!) and if you are looking for somewhere nice to stay on a budget, well, you honestly wont do better. Big thumbs up from me. :)
No frills, good value
Mike Con 08/04/2014 09:59Good location and very easy to find. Train station is not far and gives access to Potsdam and Berlin, or a short drive. The Hotel served a good breakfast (till 10am Mon-Fri and 11am on the weekend), rooms are sparse and missing little things like a hotel book and 4.50euro for a bottle of water is a bit ridiculous but good size bathroom. Room was quiet and full curtains darkened the room so we had a good sleep. Huge carpark.
I guess this Hotel caters mainly for business people and conferences or weddings but overall the good price and location made it a nice quiet stay for exploring the city, remember that we only wanted a place to sleep.
Only one negative was that the room 305 had a wet carpet smell and obviously a large stain had tried to be removed from beside the bed. We left the window open and it wasn't noticeable.

Inesknospeon 29/08/2013 01:34The hotel in conveniently located for travels around the Potsdam and Berlin/Tegel area. Like in many hotels (not all) it is advisable to ask for services during the hours of 9am and 5pm. For example, we asked for foam pillows and did not receive them. Our rooms bills were incorrect and we were overcharged (again 5am early check out). The situation was rectified via email later that day. On a positive note the staff is very friendly. Breakfast was great. The hotel went above and beyond to accommodate our gluten free request for breakfast, gluten free bread, cereal, chocolate rice cakes, etc.

RebeccavdBrkon 27/08/2013 21:01We made a good deal with Kras (NL) hoping it would be another good experience in Germany. And yes! Another hole in one! Good beds, nice clean room, great breakfast and very friendly service. Ok so there's no waterboiler (we bring our own) nor a fridge (dito). So what?
From the hotel it takes no more then 15 minutes to the parking area near the Unesco site of Sanssouci. A must visit place.
From the small trainstation in Michendorf it only takes you about 40 minutes to arrive in Berlin Centre. The whole day you can travel in every shape or form for only 7,20 euro's.
To come back and relax at the green and calm of the hotel.
We'll be back!
