What People are saying

Out of town location, basic rooms.

We had a family room on the top floor. Free water and ok wi fi, but basic European offer I.e no fridge or tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Balcony was tiny - only room for 1 chair and not much of a view. Rushing stream through the middle of the complex (There are 3 or 4 seperate buildings either side of the road) which was pretty but noisy if your room is near it.The small local railway line runs just past the hotel too with a stop right outside which you can catch down to Garmish or up to Eibsee.Rooms very clean and large bathroom but overpriced for what it is.Good selection at breakfast but sausages/eggs etc not very
warm.pool area ok but sauna is extra.

Excellent location, great food, friendly staff.

Stayed here for a night during my July visit and I must say that this hotel is excellently located,
Hammersbach station and the entrance to the hell canyon(hollentalklamm gorge) is just adjacent to the hotel, which makes this place even more beautiful. The lady at the reception gave us the tourist card with many benefits, to mention a few: enabling us to travel by train from garmisch to eibsee, free boat ride in the motorboat at eibsee.

We got a room looking towards east over the town which was beautiful and panoramic. The hotel is also located at the foothills of the Zugspitze and the view is super. We got complimentary breakfast which would otherwise cost 20 euros. the breakfast was lavish. The only complaint we had during the stay was that the service was a little slow on one of our lunches, but that was probably due to shortage of staff that day.
Overall awesome stay and definitely the best thing that happened to us during our stay in Grainau.

Great location, Great hotel, Food and Restaurant service Low

Nyland07on 31/07/2017 11:52

Stayed as a family for one night only. The location is scenic and the rooms are spacious (family room) and in good quality. The hotel has all the you would want; pool, spa, bars, restaurant, gym, parking etc.

Only problem for us was that the preparation of food was poor, salat bar missing essentials, and all dishes was "heavy" food. Waiters and "cooks" weren't educated and some didn't even know what they are serving, couldn't speak neither English, German or Spanish.

Will not come back as the food standard is way below price tag.

Great hotel directly under the Zugspitze

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and we did not regret it one single moment. The place is big and is divided over different buildings. The main building also houses all 4 restaurants and the breakfast room. There is a clever passage under the road to the building with the large pool and the wellness area. The latter must be paid for, the pool is free. Breakfast is good and lots of choice, restaurants are different but all use the same menu (with a lot of choice). The parking is big but still not many open places. Staff is friendly and the rooms are big and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. Lot's to do in the neighbourhood: biking, hiking, bus and train stops in front of the hotel. Nice steep walk to a waterfall in between the mountains (paid but only € 2 per adult). Boat ride on Eibsee comes free with a card received from the lobby staff. Only the Wifi is not working in the rooms, only in the lobby. This should be rectified in a 4 star hotel!

Good resort at the foot of the mountains

I had never heard of the Sentido brand and thought this would be a quaint local guesthouse, but it's a large complex of several buildings and a lot of parking (the parking can still get full). However, it comes with big-hotel professional service. I spoke mostly German but the staff speak good English and room info was in English, although at least one restaurant only had German menus.

My room was by the rushing stream - quite loud with the windows open but I found it helped sleep. The room was large but not really well laid out or furnished, and had two single beds shoved together. The bathroom was a decent size but everything important was shoved into one wall so that they were all a bit uncomfortable. Wifi was fast but cut out a lot and to get connected, you might need to navigate manually to 192.168.1.1 to bring up the login screen (seemingly a common issue in Germany). The free breakfast was quite a good continental spread with a lot of egg and meat options.

It has a beautiful location - right next to the Hell Valley entrance and 1km from the cable cars and generally it made staying at the foot of the mountains very easy, and wasn't very expensive.
