What People are saying

Fabulous place with the BEST Views

Sharandys on 01/11/2017 14:20

This hotel is run by some wonderful people, the views are spectacular and only a short walk from the Sorrento itself. We went there on our Honeymoon and were thrilled with our choice. Can't praise the staff enough and an extra praise the the cleaning staff who keep this hotel spotlessly clean.

Very good location and AMAZING VIEWS

My family used this hotel as a base for my sisters Wedding. My wife and I stayed for 7 nights and loved every one of them. It's in a fantastic location about a 5 minute walk downhill into the beautiful town centre. We asked for a balcony with a sea view (you get a beautiful sea view in any of the rooms). The view from our balcony was breathtaking, we overlooked the Bay of Naples and across the water was Mount Vesuvius.

You can only do B&B at the hotel but that isn't a problem as there are plenty of places to eat in the town. The breakfast was basic continental but did the job.

For evening meals we ate out every night. If you ask the hotel to make a reservation at Ristorante Il Borgo, the restaurant operate a courtesy shuttle bus to pick you up and drop you off after the meal. We went there a couple of times and were never disappointed. We also ate at Taverna Sorrentina located at the bottom of the hill (approx 3 min walk) which was also very good.

Our room was basic but functional, the bathroom was cosy but it served our needs. The rooms were clean and bright. There is an outdoor swimming pool which we only looked at as we didn't have time to use it (too busy with sightseeing and wedding related things). If you are planning on taking a car let the hotel know in advance because parking is limited.

The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much bother for them. The night porter would have us in stitches every night with some funny story.

We were there in the last week of October and the weather was starting to get a bit colder, but we were comfortable in shorts and T-shirt (even if we did have some funny looks of the locals in their winter coats)

If you want a hotel for a bit of rest and relaxation then this hotel isn't for you. If you want a very well located base for exploring Sorrento and trips further afield then for the price you can't beat it!!

Good value and great views

Every room faces the Bay of Naples, so no need to ask for a room with a balcony. Cleanliness is ok, no carpeting and clean bathroom, tissue "thick" towels - seems to be a theme on the Amalfi Coast. Breakfast is ok - at least with the coffee machine you can master strength of the your brew and temperature (add hot water for those who like HOT coffee). Staff and reception all good. Location great - 20 mins to walk into town and 30 min drive to Positano. The worst thing about this hotel; their BEDS. The WORST. So hard and uncomfortable! The British couple next door to me -- I checked with them and their bed was the same, so it wasn't just my room. I endured 3 nights on it and that was the max I could handle as I have back issues. Everything else was AMAZING about this hotel, the location, the service and cleanliness. The pool is great, the ease of getting around, but the only thing that would keep me from fully recommending: the beds. If you have back issues, choose somewhere else.

Great base and fantastic view

We stayed for four nights at the Settimo Cielo. The location can not be faulted with the most fantastic view over Sorrento you can imagine.

The hotel is situated a 10 to 15 minute walk into the centre of Sorrento. The hotel itself is lovely and clean if a little dated. There is a nice swimming pool. The staff were very friendly.

The breakfast is ok but could do with a little more choice. For the price we paid it was well worth it and we would go back if we got the chance.

Back Again for the Spectacular View and Excellent Service

I stayed at the Settimo Cielo 10 years ago with a girlfriend. My husband and I stayed here in September and my opinion of the hotel is as high as ever.
Signor Giuseppe and his son and daughter not only run a hotel; you have the feeling they are inviting you to their home. The service is personal and personable. And indeed, when I became ill the night before we were to leave Sorrento, Giuseppe called a doctor for me who came to the room; there was never any question of getting tea, etc. in the room, although they do not officially have "room service".
The hotel is very clean. The rooms are basic but with everything you need. The view is amazing and we enjoyed it as often as possible from our lovely balcony. The breakfast room also overlooks the Bay of Naples and when it is warm, you can sit out on the terrace.
The breakfast is more than adequate and always features at least one fresh fruit from the area. The bar makes wonderful cappuccino.
There is about a 15 minute pleasant walk to Piazza Tasso.
I would stay there again without the slightest hesitation.
