Six Days of peace, fresh air and fun
rmarlatton 20/03/2017 05:46A wonderful step back in time, not only the unique 1830's house and furniture but also the way of life. I was treated and truly felt like I was part of the family. I had trouble deciding whether I enjoyed the breakfasts or the historical stories that provided entertainment more. The horses were a pleasure to ride and Jake provided excellent company and instructions. On a rainy day Pam suggested that I take in the Booth Western Art Museum - what a remarkable place. I would certainly recommend a stay here - a one of a kind experience.
Home away from home
hannah_grace07on 21/02/2017 21:47Myself, My husband, and my 19 month old son wanted something fun and different to do as a short family trip, and we decided to try Seventy Four Ranch. It did not disappoint! Pam, Larry, and the cowboy Jake were SO friendly and accommodating for us and our son! Our son LOVED running around the yard and petting the friendly horses! After our son went to bed, My husband and I enjoyed learning about the history of the house and the Ranch during story-time around the campfire with s'mores. I was pleasantly surprised that they went through the trouble of starting a fire even though we were the only guests. We stayed in the Blue room in the main house. It was very clean, the decor was beautifully rustic and simple. Breakfast was delicious! The owners truly go out of their way to make you feel at home and we will definitely be returning!
Surprise Visit
Katie Mon 04/02/2017 19:39Let me start by saying that apparently the website (Bed and Breakfast) was not communicating with the 74 Ranch so they did not get my reservation and were completely surprised by me showing up at the gate on Monday night. That being said I was completely taken back by how dirty the house was and I mean really messy and quite dirty. I love staying at Bed and Breakfast when I travel for business and had I not been exhausted I would have left. I was uncomfortable about the safety of the house because it was just me and the maintenance man all night. He was very nice but on second thought I should have cancelled the reservation and found the closest hotel. My advise is make sure they know you are coming and don't go alone. Go ahead and take some Lysol and your own sheets.
Great weekend getaway with kids!
Richard Gon 27/11/2016 17:24Jake did a great job showing us my kids how to shoot a rifle and ride horses. He also set up an awesome camp fire w/Smores. Rooms were comfortable and he made sure there was enough firewood. You can bring your dogs and enjoy the outdoors. Night sky was beautiful and great views all around.
Thank you 74 Ranch for a great Columbus Day weekend!
marinal20162016on 12/10/2016 01:58Kids are asking for more riding lessons and the best marshmallows by the fire. The puppy is already missing the all this time outdoors. We are all looking forward to our next visit and will stay in Saddle House again. Regards, Marina
