What People are saying

Very Good but....

Sherif Mon 10/08/2017 10:26

I would give 5 stars for the location & views .
The concierge and reception team are helpful but not professional, I arrived to the hotel to find no one taking my luggage! Then after waiting 30 minutes in queue and while I was talking to the guy at the reception, his colleague started talking to him ignoring those people waiting for long time.
I arrived to the hotel at 1:45pm, I got into the room at 4:30pm!! I was compensated with free dinner due to this delay.
Breakfast buffet in Samba restaurant is good but the breakfast at Al Tanoor restaurant (Al Bandar Wing) is much better with respect to the staff professionalism, food quality, ambiance and variety but you need to pay 2 OR for this if you live in Al Waha wing.
For In room dining, service & food are fair.

Loved this place

We had a great time here, it is the perfect oasis to start a holiday. We had four days here which was perfect. The hotel staff were very good throughout our time there from helping us with an early check on to sorting out transport. We managed to swim, play tennis and our son joined the planned children's activities too. The food is very good - enjoying lunch time snacks at the bar between the pools and we also went for the buffet on a couple of evenings - this is very good though two nights was enough for us. We had a sea view room which was nice and quiet. Also worth a walk to see the car museum at the back.

Great stay

We stayed there for my Birthday weekend with friends.

The hotel was lovely. Checkin coukd have been smoother as we weren't told how to get to our room.

Breakfast was great with a vast selection.

Service by the pool was great with great selection and variety.

Pool, lazy river and beach all very clean. Lazy river water could be a little cooler.

Disappointed that my birthday was not acknowledged by the hotel considering it was that day. Every other hotel I have stayed in for my birthday did acknowledge it.

The hotel definitely delivers the resort holiday experience.

We had dinner in al bandar hotel and again we weren't disappointed.

We have booked another couple of stats at the hotel. I definitely recommend it.

Has everything that you want but.............

Torn between giving four or five but going with the former. Al Waha has everything for a family to enjoy, swimming pool, out door activities, scuba diving, a great beach, little fruit cocktail given out in the afternoon free of charge etc. But why the four star, well the rooms are dated and ours had stains all over the carpet and the ceiling. Also the buffet at night is good but the menu repeats itself. Chicken is chicken and you can roast it Indian style or Italian, still chicken. Roast meat is roast the only think is whether it is lamb or beef. The dishes were all the same with a slight twist but alas still the same. Don't get me wrong, food was good and the staff are excellent but have to score it four on the basis the menu basically was the same.
I have to say that the staff really make a difference to this place and really provide some extra customer service.

5 night family stay

The hotel is one of three in a complex with a private beach. It's about 35 minutes from the airport and very quiet. We went at end of July just after schools break up and the hotels were not full which was good. Swimming pools good, the attendants bring fresh water for you to drink and there is a lazy river. The adventure zone has trampolines, climbing walls and indoor play centre with slides, but check the price before you admit your kids. The Spa was as good as any other we have been too. Food was very good and all fresh. Interestingly enough the lunch and dinner buffet in samba and al tanoor is the nearly the same every day, albeit it's given a different name. There is enough variety of food to give you enough choice for a week and the chefs will make you something even if it's not on show that night so well done to the chefs. We stayed in al waha which was the first hotel built. It's in good condition but a little dated. I would recommend staying in Al Bandar the newer hotel. In the weekdays the hotel is quiet, at the weekend the locals come for two nights and it gets very busy however they soon go home. We took up the offer of the free shuttle into Muscat and visited Muttrah Souk again. It takes about 20 minutes to get there and well worth a visit.
