Really lovely B&B
Darren Con 24/08/2017 12:59Found through booking.com as we were off travelling around and wanted somewhere to stay near alton towers, very off the beaten track but well worth it.
When we arrived we were met with a friendly greeting and shown where breakfasts would be and shown to our room.
The room was a good size with a massive bathroom too.
We had travelled down from Liverpool after having 2 days there so just wanted to relax before sleeping and it was perfect for that very quiet location.
The breakfast was lovely and again very friendly atmosphere we were asked a few times if we needed anything else and it felt as though you were being looked after and nothing was forced all very natural.
Would recommend this for couples or families, it is a little out of the way with not much around which for us was perfect but some may want more choice for eating in the evenings.
Definitely a great place if you want to be local for alton towers as only about 20 mins away.
Great base for a trip to Alton Towers.
Richard Con 20/08/2017 09:48We stayed overnight at Shawgate Farm whilst visiting Alton Towers. The B&B is only a ten minute drive away. I would be wary about following a SatNav to Shawgate from Alton Towers as there are a few very narrow tracks it might take you on!
The place itself is lovely. It is in a very small village. There is a nearby pub which is great, the Fox and Goose. We had a lovely evening meal there.
The room was great too. A big four poster bed which was very comfy. The en Suite was great too. Very clean and well maintained.
The staff were friendly and the cooked breakfast was great. All in all, a great little B&B which I would thoroughly recommend.
Amazing value and great location!
Edinburgh101on 01/07/2017 08:38We stayed here ahead of a visit to Alton Towers. The room was great, very big and clean. The breakfast was amazing and was served in a nicely presented breakfast room. I would highly recommend this place and will hopefully be back soon. 10/10.
Rural stay
MrsHavenCumbriaon 29/05/2017 16:28Chose this accommodation as it was close to Alton Towers where we were spending the day. Friendly welcome, room/bathroom were both spacious with comfy bed, plenty of towels and tea/coffee making facilities. Local pub not serving food so had to travel (but not too far) to eat. Breakfast plentiful and freshly cooked. Despite this accommodation being very rural it was all in all a pleasant stay.
Nice place
Ian Son 05/04/2017 10:30Nice clean friendly B&B with really nice veiws. Rooms are clean and functional but a little dated lots of pine and a bit 80s.
Breakfast was great if a little limited in choice. Couple of things to be aware of its ina little village and at time of our visit the local pub and reaturaunt were closed with no date for opening which results in a drive round some country lanes for find food. We thought we would get a taxi but rang 3 local companies and none cpuld do anythong that night one offered a pock up at 3am ?! So book a reaturaunt and taxi before you travel. Didnt like fact ypu had to buy bottles of water for the room please add the £1 to room rate and put a bottle or 2 in the room overall nice pleasent place just be very organised and book everthing and be prepared to travel.
