Nice, but some ongoing construction
Atlcruizron 08/06/2017 05:22The hotel overall is pretty nice. The lobby and pool areas are beautiful and well maintained. The hotel is definitely doing some renovations which are obvious in a couple of ways, but nothing too intrusive. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfy. It would also be nice if the pool were a little warmer.
Poor experience
sinukason 31/05/2017 03:07The lobby is nice but the rooms... not so much. Walls are paper thin and the rooms are very dated. Woke up several times to other patrons running down the halls after midnight during the work week. Won't be staying here again.

Super inconsistent and disappointing
jcpKnoxville_TNon 28/05/2017 06:56I reserved a couple of rooms at the Sheraton Atlanta Perimeter North for a weekend last month for a nearby convention. The hotel has solid infrastructure, but somehow kept making things bad in new and unexpected ways. For the good parts, the building is pretty, there's a lovely central courtyard area with a swimming pool that's quite nice as well. The standard rooms themselves are fine, and the beds are absolutely top notch. The front desk personnel were pleasant and professional.
As you might have figured from the two star rating, though, things could have been better overall. To begin with, the hotel was under construction. Substantial construction, and there was absolutely no notice at all. You just walk in and there it is. I really don't mind staying in hotels under construction in a lot of cases, as long as I know in advance. If a customer is sandbagged when they arrive by having the hotel not mention construction in advance, it's singularly poor customer service.
One thing that stood out is the staff making repeated disparaging remarks to one of our group about the color of her hair. Things like "What did you do to your hair?", said with a puzzled or unpleasant expression. The first time, we just thought it was super weird. The times after that, it became pretty offensive. Making public comments on the appearance of a guest really shows poor taste.
For service, things were all over the place. For instance, one employee had just gone to great lengths to be super sweet to a guest, then added one of the rude hair remarks to the member of our group. It just made no sense. In another instance, a member of the breakfast crew said loudly that everyone had to finish up and leave, because she wanted to be done. At first we thought she was joking, but it soon became apparent that she was quite serious. As another example, we went for breakfast at the club lounge one morning, only to find the door locked. It seemed that someone just decided that there weren't enough people to justify doing breakfast there and locked the door. That might have been fine if there had been an actual note on the door explaining the matter. Instead, we got to figure out for ourselves that we could get breakfast in the main area. As a final gripe, I hold top level status with Sheraton, but didn't get one of the (much) nicer rooms on the club floor. Things like that are supposed to be automatic, so there's another head scratcher in all this.
As a matter of course, I filled out the survey that was emailed to me after my visit, mentioning the problems that we had encountered. The General Manager responded extremely promptly and expressed great concern, asked for more information and promised to contact me shortly with the course of action that had been taken. I waited a couple of weeks for this promised response, but heard nothing, so I emailed back asking what was happening regarding the problems. Again, no response. Two weeks after emailing again, I'm sitting down to write this review.
Frankly, I'm disappointed. Given the lack of, well, caring, the only reason that I didn't give the hotel the worst possible rating was the front desk staff and the great beds. Since there was a distinct lack of interest by the General Manager to get back to me before, perhaps this review will prompt a response, although if this is the way that the best customers are treated, I sure wouldn't want to be a regular customer.
Great stay!
Abconnor2on 25/05/2017 23:26Love this hotel. The staff was great. They upgraded my room which was awesome. Really easy parking which is rare for Atlanta. I did not think this was too far outside the city to catch a cab and ride into town.
