Disappointing in its own right, real disappointing from the Sheraton brand perspective
finesilveron 20/08/2017 05:55I am a SPG elite member so I am blessed to get to stay in lots of the Sheraton brand properties in my travels. So I often compare properties from city to city. I found this Sheraton lacking in that regard in many ways, first, there was no real recognition of being a loyal SPG'er, we had a smaller room than others on our floor. We did have a fridge if that counts and access to the club floor above, why we weren't staying on that floor is beyond me. The club floor had simple snacks at night and a simple breakfast. Other Sheratons do more for their loyal members than this hotel did.
The room had some challenges too. First my key kept not working until they finally on day two gave me a new one. There is a problem it seems in the reader in the door of the room. Also, the bathroom doors did not shut, you could not actually shut them to have privacy. Not worth complaining about during my stay, but it leaves me wondering why they don't notice this. Also, the first day, our room was skipped to be freshened, there was no sign on the door, and we were gone for 4 hours but it was not cleaned when we got back. We asked that it be cleaned and it was luckily just before the staff left. Not sure why this happened or how. Also, the rooms/design are older, I get that for sure. The AC unit is right next to the desk, such that if you have to work and the desk and have the AC on, you freeze. I ended up putting a towel over the AC so the air would be forced down away from me, which seemed to work. There has to be a better solution here. I surely cant be the first to note this.
On the plus side, the front desk staff who had to fix my problems did this quite well. Service in the restaurant was great, the food not so much, as I shared in s a separate review.
This property is rated well and among the nicest in Augusta. It may be but is well below other Sheraton properties in other cities. The items I mentioned can and should be rectified where possible, most likely pretty easily (except the AC placement).
Clean, kind and friendly
Virginia Hon 09/08/2017 19:52I spent three nights here with my young son. Everyone was kind and friendly. They made our stay a joy and a pleasure. I am sure that this characteristic comes from the tope down because it is so consistent. I could not recommend a hotel more highly.
Very clean, Very well staffed
TeamDorkon 20/07/2017 17:59We had the opportunity to stay here while looking at some nearby property and could not have been happier with our stay. Located conveniently off the main drag, we walked in to a friendly check in clerk, who quickly checked us in, upgrading us to the club floor with a free afternoon happy hour and a free breakfast the following morning. It was well stocked both times, despite being savagely attacked by a ravenous young kids scooping up the sodas and snacks. The young lady on duty was quick to replenish the supplies after the horde descended to the pool. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the AC quiet as a church mouse. We slept well and check out the next morning was easy peasy lemon squeezy. Due to a tremendous storm out we even dined in house at the steakhouse and found it enjoyable as well. It went so well its getting its own review!
Solid hotel near I-20 access
eric jon 19/07/2017 04:24I stayed here last week for business it would not have been my first choice, that would have been the Hilton Garden Inn across the parking lot. But then again I'm a Hilton owner. This hotel has most the amenities you need although on the second floor there was no mini fridge to hold leftovers. There was a full Lively bar and a spacious restaurant that didn't seem heavily-used. the staff was very welcoming, kind and took care of anything you needed.

travelandfun09on 18/07/2017 15:40I always have a great stay. The beds are still comfortable. There was a mini refrigerator in the room. There is a bar and restaurant in the hotel. I enjoy the club level with complimentary breakfast as well as hors d'oeuvres and drinks in the afternoon. I stay at this location multiple times during the year. I am noticing a change in the hotel from the staff to the bath products; hopefully for the better.
