What People are saying

Nice location - decent hotel

Dalsemeron 25/08/2017 17:45

My wife and I spent one night at the Sheraton. The street the property shares also has the aLoft and Indigo hotel. Lots of new construction going on so it's a little dirty and noisy now, but in a year or two, I'm confident the street will look great. The Hotel's location was great as it was a 5-10 minute walk to the DUMBO neighborhood at the Manhattan Bridge and a 20 minute walk to Ft Green Park area. Lots of great restaurants in that section.
As a AMEX Business card holder, I'm automatically to get club access, which means a quiet oasis for snacks, breakfast and drinks (usually at a discount). This hotel doesn't have a "club", so the 1st floor bar had snacks consisting of fried something and rice something, and looked like it had been out for an hour or two. No special or exclusive service. Just a bartender charging regular prices for drinks. The breakfast was fair (at best). Made me jealous of the people staying at Hampton Inns and Residence Inns. Bottom line is I chose the Sheraton for this perk over the Marriott and Hilton, but this perk was so disappointing, that I will likely explore other options next time I'm in the area. A side note was that the front desk person checking me in, wasn't aware of the perk, and me needing to convince her what I should be getting (automatically) did not give me that "warm and fuzzy welcome" from top notch hotels, and makes me think the hotel needs to improve their employee training. Room was small but satisfied my needs. No upgrade despite being an SPG gold member.

Our Stay At The Sherton Brooklyn

RalphAndradezon 20/08/2017 18:28

Let me start by saying both my wife and I are retired employees from Starwood Hotels.
We worked in a 1000 rm. Westin on Hollywood Beach, Fl. (Its now a Hilton property. Be advised to, If you are trying to get a room with your "Legacy Card it's a hoax. YOU ARE NOT GETTING ONE) Our stay at the Sheraton Brooklyn was fantastic. Every employee encountered always had smiles on their faces. We arrived early from Melbourne, FL. and had no problem storing our luggage. We inquired if there was a room available early could we please have it. It happened!
We took a walk down the St.to Juniors for breakfast and walked around a little. I can tell you because I'm from NY that the Duffield St. area has changed for the better from our last trip when we stayed at the Aloft. The area is safe to walk around now, and that helps to make the Hotel a great place to stay at.
From the Airports to any place you want to go, we suggest using Uber! They are safe, clean, and you see who is picking you up with an ETA. We did have breakfast one morning gratis from an employee Anthony Sapp. We ate out the rest of the time. Across the St. is Hotel Indigo. We ate there once. The food was mediocre at best. The service was slow and the Bartender was interested in other things instead of taking care of customers. We ate at Alchemy, Juniors, and Queen Marie Italian. All were NY pricey as expected except for Queen Marie. We were met by an older gentleman who seated us (we had Cousins from Staten Island visiting) and took very good care of us and all his customers. Was the food good, was it hot, etc. he inquired? The food was EXCELLENT! You can make reservations at the Queen which you cannot do at Patsy's Italian. We also suggest a walk or ride over to 4th Ave., to the 4th Ave. Pub, between Bergen and St. Marks. Plenty of beers on tap and the people there are super friendly and cool. Nearby you have City Center that has lots of food choices.
The only complaint we had, (this is not the Hotels fault) was Starbucks! They were rude at times, and made it seem like they were doing you a favor. Plus they were more expensive then an outside Starbucks. Sheraton does not own that, they are vendors. I want to acknowledge several employees from the Sheraton. They are
ANTHONY SAPP, MARIE OWENS, CHARLES WILLIAMS, VIVIAN, AND HERLYNE.
HOUSEKEEPING WAS GREAT! If I missed anyone please except my apology and know you were all fantastic. I will recommend the Sheraton to all I know. Sorry if this review is to long.
Thanks and be well

Quick business....

Sure, its a lil tight, but the beds are comfy and the staff meet all your needs. Get your chubby butt out of your room and walk the great streets of Brooklyn if you get a lil claustrophobic! I have no issues with this hotel at all.

Quiet, elegant, secure and attention to the details

1. the elevators are activated only by the room keys which makes the hotel very safe.
2. they deliver to the room a complete english breakfast for a cost of 10-14 bucks depending on the choices.
3. The sleep quality is very good with 3 different type of pillows provided.
4. Toilet accessories are provided of pretty decent quality with a mouthwash and some q-tips which i found very thoughtful of them.
5. there is a $50 valet parking available but there are plenty of parking garages available just one or two blocks away from the hotel.
6. Hassle free check in and check out process.
Overall an excellent choice.

Overnight stay after a girls get together in NY

Tracy Bon 09/08/2017 03:59

After I booked a room (online) with a king bed, I realized I made a mistake, I needed two beds in room. So I asked the hotel (over a month in advance of our stay) to please switch it to a double bed room. They were supposed to contact me to confirm. I never got a confirmation that they had changed the reservation. Two days before my stay, I called again to inquire about the change. The woman at the reservation desk did not sound professional. She seemed annoyed that I had even called the hotel. But she did tell me that the change had been made and that I would get a room with two beds. At The time of check in, I was told the room was one with a king bed. They had no record of my requests.
So we had three adult women sharing a king bed. We made do with it, because the staff kept saying they were "negative 6 double beds".
In the morning, with more light in the room, we awoke to find the duvet under the sheet had multiple blood marks. Not old stains that didn't come out in the wash, but very bright red drops scattered all over. We quickly decided to leave that room as fast as we could. It completely disgusted us.
I would absolutely never recommend someone to stay here.
