Location, location, location! You can walk to just about everything from this hotel. The river walk is only a couple blocks away. There are a lot of restaurants/bars near the hotel off the river walk as well, if you are looking for something a little less touristy.
The hotel itself is a little older and it's more of a boutique style hotel than a massive resort. It looks as if they have done some remodeling and updating to make the rooms more contemporary. My room was clean but had a few minor things that just didn't quite it the remodel excellence mark (tape on the fire sprinkler still and water spots on the ceiling in the bathroom). No biggie - just small things that could be fixed. Also, my floor (not my room) but the hallways smelled like dog food. It was not pleasant. Things that count were great though - soft bed, high water pressure, etc.
Staff was excellent. They let me check in early. I left a necklace in my room after checking out and they returned it to me! I was sooo thankful...THANK YOU LOSS PREVENTION!!!

Stephanie provided excellent information regarding new types of drinks and how a cordial drink goes with what type of situation. Her experience resulted in finding a new favorite night cap drink with coffee, taking Starbucks expresso to a new height of experience.

Zaninna, at the reception desk was amazing. She made our stay more than delightful. We had a late flight the day of our departure and she gave us a late checkout which let us explore the city without having to move luggage.
She catered to our every need.

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary. It is a beautiful hotel and centrally located to everything we like to do in the historic downtown. The bed was very comfortable and our room was clean. We went down to the basement and checked it out. The old fashioned barbershop that I believe is still in operation. We have stayed there one other time and just love it!!
