What People are saying

Awesome motel!!

Deanna Joan Don 30/08/2017 14:50

I HIGHLY recommend staying here at the Livingston Inn if you are in or around the area! The room was fantastic - very spacious and clean.. this place had me definitely feeling at home. I was always too afraid to stay at motels, but the Livingston Inn has changed my mind! We will definitely stay here again!

Clean, comfortable, full of charm and character

Ziggyflyon 25/08/2017 22:30

Do not judge this book by its cover. Yes, it's by railroad tracks -- but they are apparently not used. Yes, it's by the interstate -- but our unit was quiet with no road noise. Yes, the exterior looks a bit shall we say garish -- but inside you'll find a very clean, comfortable, well maintained room with tons of charm and character.

I don't give out many 5 stars, but I could not find anything to fault with this place. Amenities were good. Fridge, microwave, free wifi, flat screen TV. Those all important beds were in good condition and provided good back support. Convenient access to room. Excellent air conditioning/heating. Plenty of towels. Warm wood tones throughout. Many thoughtful touches. The owners haven't skimped.

Best part -- this is a Mom and Pop sort of a place, not your sterile econobox motel room by any means. Tillie and John are on site and it's all them, and very authentic.

And what motel have you ever stayed at that has its own barn? "Horses welcome!"

The town of Livingston is interesting and historical too. You're just down the street from the Beefburger hamburger stand, which was excellent. Not to mention some of the best fly fishing in the world on the Yellowstone River.

This place with all its charm and character was a highlight of our 10 days in Montana and Wyoming.

Great locally owned spot

Stopped in on my way through Montana, the front desk person was friendly, and our room door was already open and waiting when we checked in. The decor is cute without being cheesy; it is evident that the owners have taken great care to make their motel as homey as possible. The room was immaculate, with no lingering odors, and there was a cute note from a couple employees (pictured) assuring us that the room had been prepared for us. Bonus-- there are labels above some of the light switches and a wall-mounted bottle opener above the trash can.
I would recommend this motel above any in the area. It isn't the cheapest (although it is certainly the cleanest), but it also isn't the most expensive, and it is maintained with love. We met a local on our dinner stop (check out my review of Gil's Goods) who referred to the owners on a first name basis, and it really added to the small town feel that can sometimes be rare in a town like Livingston that is a popular stop on the road to Yellowstone.

Best Stay on our 9-day Trip

Sandy Lon 30/07/2017 06:05

We stopped here as we drove by and were assigned a lovely room by a lovely owner who loves her job. Courteous, kind and professional, she loved to share her knowledge and photographs- Be sure to look at all of them up and down the hallways. So much fun. You could tell the sheets were clean, fresh and ironed. Very clean room! Yes, I would stay here again if I'm ever in the area. No breakfast here but the owners will share their favs.

Like staying at Grandma and Grandpa's

Tawny Bon 29/07/2017 14:42

We stopped by after a long day on the road(we were tired) with no reservation. Our room was spotless, well appointed, modern and yet decorated in a tasteful western homey decor.(In the West the "western" and "southwestern" style gets overdone and can be tacky, this was not tacky.) It was obvious thought and creativity went into the remodel of this property. We enjoyed the photographs and were pretty impressed at Tillie's talent. John and Tillie were so hospitable, kind of like going to stay at Grandma and Grandpa's place. The laundry next door was also clean and a nice amenity to eliminate hauling around dirty clothes for a few more days. The local ladies who were there included me in their conversation and it felt very comfortable.
