Great location but needs work
nolimitt168on 08/11/2016 10:07I stayed here for 3 nights in November 2016. There're pros and cons to this hotels. Pros: great location to shopping malls and temples. There's a family mart 100 feet on the corner of you need to buy water or milk. The buffet breakfast is great with plenty of selection of both east and western options. The staff is very friendly. Now the cons: the Rooms of the hotel is outdated. It is a bit unkept for my standards. There's cracks on the bathroom floors and scuff marks on walls and furniture. The furniture is outdated brown and designed to hide dust. There's noticeable cracks along the edge of the ceiling inside the bathroom. Also, the Internet is spotty at best. Forget watching YouTube or Netflix here. The Internet freezes every 5 minutes and you'll have to reconnect. I stayed on the 7th floor next to the elevator. It seems like a hotel targeted for Japanese businessmen as most things are in Japanese.
Perfect for a stopover
tenajpon 14/07/2014 15:22Great location. The hotel is right opposite to the Eslite bookstore. And it is just 3-min walk away from the train station, bus stops (say, to the beautiful Nanliao fishing port) and department stores. The City God Temple (Cheng Huang Temple), where there are many very famous food vendors, is also within walking distance.
It did not offer us early check-in, but we could deposit our baggage at the reception. The room was neat with a very big bathroom (its size was comparable to the bed room!). There was even a TV below the washing basin! The room was clean, but of course, it could be even cleaner. The breakfast (which was not elaborate but suffice) was served at the restaurant of Shin Yuan Park Hotel.
There might be better options in the city for a longer stay, but Shin Yuan hotel is perfect for a short stopover.
