Great service and friendly staff

This hotel was very accommodating to our needs and we really enjoyed out stay. We didn't have a car rental but the hotel organised for a pick up and drop off to the bus port (5-10 min drive). They even dropped us off in the city centre and picked us up one day as well so that we could "explore" the town. There's really not much that you could see and do by foot but there is a tourist info desk you can go to for information.

The buffet meal were great. The first night we arrive fairly late and the staff told us to head to the restaurant immediately as they will start clearing up the food. So we felt rushed. But day 2 we were there early enough to enjoy the food. There are variety of food mainly focused on Japanese cuisine. The breakfast buffet was fantastic too. Mixture of western and Japanese food are available and staff are quick to clean the table as you get up for seconds.

The bath facilities are clean and spacious. Variety of different kind of bath are available.There is also a locker facility too as well as the usual amenities like hair dryer (panasonic), shampoos, brush etc both in the public bath area and in the room.

Wifi was only available in the foyer and not in the room.

Spacious clean room and yummy buffet dinner

Booked the Japanese twin room located on the 8th floor and facing the oronko rock.
Room is very clean and spacious with 2 twin bed. Paid JPY12,350 per person, which includes breakfast and dinner and a bottle of red wine upon check in.
When entered, on the right is the toilet. The left is the bathroom with a space where a sink for washing is located. There is no place in the bathroom to hang clothes and this must be left outside the sink area which is kind of inconvenient.
Most memorable during my stay is the buffet dinner. The selection is wide and generously replenished. There were cakes, smoothies, crepes, waffles, ramen, crab legs, fried scallops, fried rice, soba, ice cream etc.The restaurant is spacious and diners will not feel the crowd during meal time.
Staff at the front office were very helpful and friendly. One of them speak fluent English and could provide good information when asked. The coin laundry area is right behind the souvenir shop and there are sofa around for you to use while waiting for the laundry to be ready.
There provide free shuttle to the Utoro bus terminus. If you are taking a bus from the Shari bus terminus, certain timing buses will send you directly to the hotel's door step. Hotel is located uphill and during winter time, it will be tough to lug your luggage up the hill. You may contact the hotel for free pick up.
Overall, very satisfied with the stay in this hotel and will come back again if I decided to visit Shiretoko again.

stayed for one night!
the room is big , buffet dinner was good!
breakfast just normal!
the onsen was superb!
wifi only provided in lobby.
front desk was helpful, don't speak english well but try the best to help!

Decent hotel on a hill for the masses

In general, a decent huge hotel which probably catered more for the masses. The hotel was on a hill some distance away from the pier and your room view could somewhat be blocked by other buildings and houses. A pity as the coastline was very pretty.

Room was huge. Furnishing and feel was alright. Not luxurious. And neither was it taddy. It was just average.

The onsen had good number of pools. Part of the deco was jade? Did not quite see that although the adverts were on the lift's walls.

Dinner was a huge, huge buffet area. One would be spoilt for choice. However the taste was just average.

In conclusion. Pretty average. Neither good nor bad. For the masses really.

Absolutely Grand

This is a marvelous hotel with all those things you find at top level establishments. There are multiple communal onsens (baths) for both men and women. The restaurant is fabulous with a minimum of 20 individual stations serving a huge variety of Japanese and Western items. This is unlike any buffet you've ever dined at.
