good hotel in central amboli
BigbossGoaon 29/12/2016 14:22shiv malhar is a small budget hotel in central amboli.
it is near major attractions and near the main highway. the restaurant underneath is basic but okay considering the amboli village size..
shivmalhar can be a stop towards goa/belgaum in the scenic hill station of amboli
1 night in amboli
AMOD Kon 15/11/2016 03:35Its very good hotel..its a home away from home..it was a pleasent stay..hotel owner is very courteous and helpful..food is also very nice..they serve veg and non veg thali and break fast in morning. It gives scenic view from balcony. I guess it has biggest space in amboli after mtdc.. budget minded customers can definately go their.
Cheap, but worth it?
Jeet Con 08/07/2016 18:45We booked this hotel at a price of 600₹/night for a non-AC room, however the quality and conditions of the room were not at all upto the mark.
Toilets - Very Clean
Room - In a bad condition
Bed - Had a very bad smell
Staff - Although the manager was very kind and helpful, the staff wasn't.
We had to ask three times for fixing the TV (which was smaller than a tablet screen) and it was fixed in the night.
If you just need a shelter on your head in Amboli at the cheapest available price then there's no better option than this, but if you're looking for a comfortable stay, I won't suggest this place.
The last option if you don't find anything else or if you are on a really tight budget.
Naturalist_Nomadon 23/06/2016 07:28This must be one of the best hotels when it was built but with zero upkeep & maintenance, it has turned into a low-end lodging.
Pros :
1 Scenic view from 3rd floor
2 Central location in Amboli
3 Pocket friendly option for budget travellers
Cons :
1 Old rooms with ancient & creaky furniture
2 Room service extremely delayed & poor
3 Don't expect anything apart from tea & coffee from their (non-existent) restaurant
4 Hot water only between 7-9 am that too if the hotel capacity is low.
5 Drinking water & glasses were made available on 2nd day after making personal request at the reception...they just won't answer the calls.
So to sum it up, either go there with zero expectations or if you are on tight budget.
A Good Choice for Budget Travellers
jackwoolf2016on 24/04/2016 09:10I consider Shiv Malhar Hotel an excellent choice for budget travellers, it is far less expensive than most other places. Although the amenities are fairly basic, the rooms are perfectly fine, clean, light and airy, and the bathroom satisfactory with a powerful shower and hot water in the mornings. It is one of only two hotels in Amboli which provides wi-fi for its guests. The Owner/Manager, who speaks good English, made me most welcome, and was helpful and obliging, as were the other staff.
