What People are saying

Happily surprised

Exchanged my timeshare weeks to my son's first trip to the beach. Shore Crest was not my first choice, but I ended up being very happy with the accommodations. Our suite was clean, well stocked, beds comfortable . Very large complimentary beach bag was a nice touch. Wish I had known that large beach towels were included with the room and trade in for clean ones. This could have been one less thing to pack. Did not interact with very many staff, but the ones I did speak with here very nice. The night before check-out I was unable to find a luggage cart. I was checking every floor when I ran into a staff member in the elevator and mentioned this to her. Within a few minutes of returning to my room without a chart, staff member Winter H. arrived with one for me. Easy access to the beach from this hotel. Beach was clean, not over crowded. Did not try the indoor pool, but did frequent the outdoor pool and lazy rive. Lazy river was a little smaller than we preferred but still a nice touch. Pool is 3-5 ft deep which worked out great for my 4-yr old son. I was disappointed with all the beer cans left around the pool and brought into the pool. There is a pool side bar but there is no reason that at noon, there needs to be tower of beer cans around the pool for the kids to see and have to go around. My suggestion would be to limit the times alcohol is allowed at and in the pool til the last 1-2 hours of the night so that the children do not have to be exposed to this. Although we did not have any problems, parking is limited and spots are small. Overall though, we were very pleased with Shore Crest. Great beach access, very close to Barefoot Landing and Hamburger Joe's. Only a couple minute drive from Broadway at the Beach and other attractions.

Relaxing Family Place - Overzealous New Security

millertime125on 16/08/2017 19:32

My family has been coming to Shore Crest since I was young, and it's always been a great place to travel and relax for a week. The location on the beach is great, and the views from the balconies are top notch. In recent years, Uber has opened up a lot more of the strand for adult activities without the worry of driving, and Shore Crest provides ample parking for anyone who drives down. The pools & lazy river have always been nice place to relax until this year.

Rant: Shore Crest hired a new pool security guard who was at best extremely overzealous in her duties, and at worst, ignorant, rude, and treated paying guests like common criminals. Her attitude and disrespect made several families, old and young, uncomfortable and unhappy. While my wife and I were able to avoid her Stalin-ist interrogation tactics, we spoke with several guests who were very disappointed that Shore Crest has resorted to such extreme measures to keep their pools free of riff-raff. While I doubt that management truly understood the scope of this woman's power overreach, I do hope that she won't be there next time we go back. If she does, it will most likely be our last visit.

Pros: Beachfront, Close to Barefoot Landing, several restaurants and grocery stores within 15 minute drive.

Cons: New security guard.

The resort accommodations were very exaggerated. Pictures show nice views of ocean or marsh. Our view is an old house and parking lot. Furniture is dated and uncomfortable. They have 9 floors, if you are below floor 7 you have no view. We were told next time to call ahead and ask for higher floor. There won't be a next time. It was clean.

Always a Great Stay!

We have stayed at Shore Crest 1 for the past 20 years! We love it there! We own week 28, which begins early to mid-July (depending on leap year, etc) and our check-in day is always on a Friday for 7 nights. Ours is a 2 bedroom end unit, ocean front - so we have a great view from the 5th floor. The room is always clean, well equipped, and updated, and if there is ever a problem with an appliance or small electric, it is repaired or replaced asap. The staff here is friendly/professional - and maintenance and housekeeping go above and beyond to keep the resort looking good. The pools are clean and tidy, the activities department is busy, the complimentary morning coffee in the lobby is delicious - and we are very happy (except for the rather slow elevator system, and close parking spaces--which we have gotten used to over the years)! If we could re-design the unit, we would definitely reduce the size of the huge king master bedroom/bath area - and add another bunk room/half bath--or possibly use 2 double beds in this space. I'm not an architect or engineer, but as a mother/grandmother I would somehow allocate this for better use of the space as far as accommodating a few more family members. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds; the sleeper sofa isn't the best for adults as far as comfort/sleep ability (when some of us rise early/others sleep late)--but we make it work. These last few comments aren't really complaints, just suggestions for management as far as future renovations.

This review is about the "Choice Privilege" program with this resort

Shannon Fon 27/07/2017 03:33

I booked a room back in January this year and have been so excited for almost 8 months to visit. You can only imagine my disappointment when we checked in and was told we would NOT be oceanfront and that we were booked to be in Shore Crest Villas II and would be marsh view. I showed my reservation to the front desk and, like me, she did not see anything that said I would be in Shore Crest TWO and not oceanfront. I paid over $1000 for four nights to be MARSH front? The Choice privilege program is crap because they only give you "choice" rooms (meaning no one wants those rooms). My husband and I were heartbroken we could not be on the ocean.

The resort itself is awesome. Too bad I will never book here again due to the disappointment incurred by misleading information.
